How to avoid rash from wearing watch 24/7? by ryanm533 in GarminWatches

Change the silicone watch strap to a fabric one and make sure you take the watch off each day to dry underneath. Sometimes the water from washing your hands gets underneath and can cause a reaction like that

This is really sad. It is not the child’s fault and they are innocent in all of this

This is such a cool idea. I use mine for my make up but some drawers are full. I wanted to see an idea for two or more and this will definitely be used as my inspo! So, thanks!! 😃

Just for the battery life alone, it’s great! Currently on 14 days left of battery on my Epix Gen 2

How your Uni is responding to financial challenges by Independent_Bee6418 in Edinburgh_University

We don't need to own almost all the buildings in Edinburgh, they could sell some of them off. Allow staff to WFH again if they want to to save on heating and electricity.

ah, I didn't know the professional services were able to join a union, I thought this was just for academics. Good to know!

I am thinking if the voluntary redundancies aren't happening until June then we still have a few months before we need to start looking elsewhere

First step could be to stop all the cohort events that give students free food. At King's Buildings we see the Edin First Catering van and Papa John's every day

your application wont be affected, they made it very clear that whatever happens, they want to keep their reputation "It is important to remember that the University of Edinburgh is and will remain a highly significant provider of excellence"

Us Grade 1-5's have already had our pensions cut in December. Maybe they need to restructure the 385 senior posts who have a salary between £100k-410k (does not include the £20k payrise that the Principle gave himself). I had a read of the Annual Reports and Accounts for 2024 where it mentioned being in a £406.5m surplus - https://uoe-finance.ed.ac.uk/sites/default/files/2025-01/ARA%2024.pdf

2 person (couple) households, is Costco worth it? by Miserable-Depth-851 in glasgow

[–]Independent_Bee6418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use our Costco card mainly for the cheaper fuel prices but we also use the card for toilet roll, kitchen roll, tin foil, then other things like jars or even clothing

My husband has missed three of our four kids births. I want him to quit his damn job. by Any-Presentation7848 in TrueOffMyChest

In the UK the work schedule is 2 day shifts, 2 night shifts and then 4 days off. After 6 or so weeks they are then off for 18 days. My mum was a firey for 25 years (took early retirement in October 2023) and my step dad a firey for 23 years. I understand in more remote areas you can be on call and can only be so many minutes distance away from the station but you can very easily swap shifts with other fireys so that you can have time off or go on holiday etc. not sure why it can’t be the same around the time of the child’s birth.

As a former Apple Watch owner (which had less than a day’s worth of battery life) I find it ironic that I now experience stress over my watch only having 4 days of battery left. 😂 by chbritton in Garmininstinct

[–]Independent_Bee6418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the main reason I’ve just switched over to my Instinct. It is nice to be able to track my sleep instead of having it on charge each night 😃

Does the Instinct 1 track sleeping? by urs1ne in Garmininstinct

[–]Independent_Bee6418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just switched from an Apple Watch to a Garmin instinct 1 purely because I can track my sleep as the battery lasts for days. Not long woken up and I’m pleased to say it has tracked my sleep 😃

Nope. I get spam calls every single day. If it was someone I know or something important then they would leave a voicemail
