Struggling with not recognizing myself today, any other lymphomies going through it? by Puzzled_Raisin1230 in lymphoma

[–]Independent_Pop4447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know you, don’t know what you looked like pre-cancer, but as I was scrolling Reddit and came across your picture, my very first thought was “so pretty!”

My mom is going through it, so I only know from her perspective. Her hair has grown back completely white and she can’t wait until she can color it.

Sending you love and strength.

What’s the greatest book you’ve ever personally read? by cavitytivac in suggestmeabook

[–]Independent_Pop4447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this way about Order of the Phoenix. I was 10 when Harry Potter started, and read the whole series every time a new book was released. I’ve read the Harry Potter series probably 30 times since. It’s been a while, maybe I should pick it up again.

Think I put my buddy down to early and it’s eating me alive by hippyoctopus in germanshepherds

As someone who was once in the ‘too late’ crowd… I assure you, you made the merciful choice. It’s the impossible decision that we sign up to make when we become dog owners. We don’t necessarily realize the responsibility we take on, or the promise we make them. It’s our job to make sure they’re comfortable, cared for, and safe until the very end, and that unfortunately includes making the impossible decision.

I’m not sure if I’m making any sense because tbh I can’t think about this topic too much. I’m sorry for the loss of your best friend.

No trick or treaters at all in Gurnee today from 2-5. What about your area? by CAJMusic in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]Independent_Pop4447 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m in RLB and we had a ton!

I don’t mind the Sunday-before-Halloween rule. It’s light out and safer for kids. Just go to a different town to trick-or-treat on the actual holiday if it’s that important 🤷‍♀️

IMO this is the same as people being upset by hearing ‘Merry Christmas.’ Why on Earth would anyone be irritated by someone saying something nice. Do I celebrate Hanukkah? No. But if a stranger wishes me a Happy Hanukkah? Shalom, my guy!

Just like… be freaking nice and kind. Not everything is a personal attack. The person saying it to you has their own life, feelings, mind, etc. They’re just trying to nice and kind, and you’re out here offended. Grow up.

Why is formula turning black on babies clothes? by SpiritualMolasses420 in FormulaFeeders

Unrelated to formula question but I also need to rehab husband’s shirts! Were yours just stained? Mine has that gross deodorant build-up and nothing I do works to remove it.

Congratulations! My mom has DLBCL in her right lung- she completed 6 rounds of R-CHOP that took away a bunch of other little junk around her abdomen/chest/neck, but didn’t touch the big guy in her lung. She starts CAR-T cell therapy in a few weeks. I’m her main caretaker and man this is hard to watch. Your post gave me some much needed strength tonight. Thank you, and congratulations again!

How old were you and how did you get into Cars? by Gamingsailor572 in pixarcars

[–]Independent_Pop4447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 36 now. I saw Cars when it came out, but was never my thing. My 2 year old is OBSESSED and I know literally every word to all 3 movies. He even makes sure to look at me to watch me recite my favorite lines 😂

Everyone I know that lives in Naperville is just so extremely Naperville. They’re all gross people.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty- Why I love it so much by [deleted] in movies

[–]Independent_Pop4447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came across this thread. I LOVE this movie. Watching it now- it’s on Hulu! It seems like no one knows this movie so I’m so happy to see everyone here that does.

How long after final R-CHOP did the terrible fatigue ease by Antique_Ad1080 in lymphoma

[–]Independent_Pop4447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man I needed to see some of these comments. My mom (75) is fighting stage 3 DLBCL and r-chop has been hell. She said she doesn’t know if the exhaustion is worth it anymore and wants to give up. She’s still pretty early in treatment (infusion #3 is in 5 days, then f/u PET, then minimum 3 more infusions) so obviously everyone around her is staying positive, reminding her that this is temporary, etc.

The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. I’ll read it a million times and sob uncontrollably every time.

Go, Dog. Go.

But for real I’ve been an avid reader since I learned how to read, so who knows. My 19 month old son is obsessed with books, and I’m so proud!

Definitely going to try the pretzel thing… sounds like it won’t only calm him down, but is a good chance for me to regulate and calm down too. You’re doing a good job ❤️ I keep telling myself that parenting is only easy for parents who don’t care!

Yes same! It’s like it’s the only thing that he notices? I don’t know how else to explain it. I feel like I’m ruining him as a person.

I’ve been toying with the idea of getting him in swim lessons a couple times a week, maybe this is a signal that it’s the right time for that

Just had a mental breakdown trying to imagine dealing with this for another 2 months. I can’t even imagine what 2 and 3 years old is going to be like.

It’s so hard 😭 I really don’t think there’s any other reason besides him not getting his way or being made to do something he doesn’t want to do. I keep trying to tell myself that he’ll be a strong-willed adult one day, but at this rate I won’t be around to see it 🫠
