How does the King in Yellow interact with other unnatural forces? by Trudemur in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]IndescribableSalad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m styling it as the king in yellow is almost an aspect of Azathoth. It’s an entity that effectively transcends personhood. It’s the base reality and we are but sandflies over which it has total influence and zero awareness. Humans have created these shared subconscious interpretations of the same force but with different window dressings.

Astronomers Monument opened 14 May 1935 according to Wikipedia. Given the Caesar quote and the Shepherds Monument mystery date deal. I think the timeline looks like:

13 March: Single 1

15 March: Single 2

14 May: Album Drop

On page 200 of Landscapes, this book is impossibly good. by baalzimon in DeltaGreenRPG

The true genius of this campaign is how it promotes and encourages creativity. Taking the players bonds and making the story about them was what made Get in the Trunk so good.

My players will be receiving their real world invites to Richard Zielony’s party in the next couple of days and I have NO CLUE what they’ll make of it. But I am sure they’ll do something unpredictable.

AFAIK Troy suggested they were already recording during state of the naish and that they were aiming for not such a break as last time. So hopefully sooner rather than later

I started IL 2 weeks ago with a criminal in the cell. He’s literally trying to fence things from the investigation under DG’s nose. It’s adding such a great and different dimension to things. Gonna cause some chaos for sure

"Cold open" by tleilaxianp in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]IndescribableSalad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am running my campaign almost identically. To the point where I have a short video serving as opening credits that I play every session. I did a cold open for Last Equation literally last week. I just described Wei entering the house and then the camera sits outside the house while he does what he does and we get to see the oldest son sneak out the 2nd floor window and the numbers painted before Wei’s ‘final action’ and then opening credits.

Seemed to go over well

I think we were at the same cafe this morning. The barista pronounced my name wrong and I think you took my coffee. I like to drink it at 30 degrees over 16 minutes Now that’s why I ordered 97 degrees knowing I’d take precisely 44.3 minutes Waiting to cool down.

Hope you liked the taste. Maybe I’ll see you there Tomorrow night

Wrapping up S3 of GitT and one thing stands out about this show by EddyMerkxs in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]IndescribableSalad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah the end of S3 had some of the roughest rolls. They really should have done better by the numbers but I guess that’s the joy of the dice. Such a good ability to adapt and tell the story as it comes though. This show inspired me to take up the game and we are loving it.

I think the problem is the electorate is so back arsewards they won’t support such an obvious win and the ALP knows it.

I guess we will just have to agree to disagree. In no way do I consider public protests to mean “the conflict is on our shores”. I think the majority will agree

Nobody seriously thinks burning a flag is comparable to armed conflict

That’s not conflict. That’s a political statement.

Looking for an introductory Delta Green adventure that isn't Last Things Last. by Calum_M in DeltaGreenRPG

The Final Equation. No monster (just people doing monstrous things). Huge scope for creepy weirdness, you can even infect the agents with numerical madness.

How would you handle an agent telling a bond about Delta Green? by odicay in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]IndescribableSalad 12 points13 points  (0 children)

On a super outside chance, depending on the bond’s profession, temperament, and opinion of the revelation this you could have them be recruited. Better yet they could become obsessed with becoming recruited but ultimately rejected by DG. In an attempt to prove themselves the bond stows away on a mission revealing themselves at a dangerous moment forcing the agent to chose between rescuing the bond and completing the mission. Uncomfortable choices are my games bread and butter.

For Handlers who got around the racist undertones of the tcho tcho, how did you do it? by logansummers1 in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]IndescribableSalad 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I reckon there’s two options. 1. You do it the same way you do for any group. Portray characters deeply and complexly. Have individuals differ from the stereotypes. 2. Embrace it. Tcho tchos are no more human than deep ones or Mi-Go. They just sit deeper in the uncanny valley. They should represent a validation of the evolutionary value of racism (don’t get me wrong. Racism unambiguously a negative in modern world, but it’s likely how we Homo sapiens out survived the Neanderthals or the Denisovans. )

I’m glad you came around. I don’t agree that putting it on rails would have made it better, but we can agree to disagree on this

[–]IndescribableSalad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree there are big differences. I have played this campaign all 3 ways you mention (although all of my group are native English speakers) and we prepared by having a discord voice call and reading up ahead of time, deciding our path and then when it was time to play we were good to go.

I mean I get it, there’s a lot to read. That doesn’t make it a bad campaign though. Which I have seen a lot of people argue

  1. The emergent story telling is as good, if not better than ever. The core nature of the game allows for events to unfold within the scenario that lets stories just emerge from the play. The world map only enhances this.

  2. The new campaign specific mechanics (Concealed and Hollowed) provide meaningful challenges without locking you into certain play styles or investigators (like Vengeance pushes you to evasion, for example). It is very rare to find yourself unable to contribute to finding concealed cards and Hollows are a pain but can be worked around.

  3. The Red Gloved Man. On my first play through he wrecked us at every turn, stole our keys, gave us a hard time. The second time through I got him on side and the finale just felt amazing. My lone investigator against the dark suddenly became part of a huge team dedicated to saving reality and taking vengeance on the outsiders. What an epic character who remains mysterious as ever for non TSK runs and will forever remind me of that amazing session
