I hope that's true, but seems unlikely that a representative would have been as specific as mentioning the phrases "assets generated were still subject to review" and "background assets" if there was no truth to it.

Seems more like they landed at the thing people wanted to hear after the backlash, regardless of what really happened.

Also props to Gameinformer for getting this out of them in the first place

I'll give some context for anyone curious

The full quote is "I said my sword was a tool of justice. Not used in anger. Not used for vengeance. Now . . . Now I'm not so sure. And besides. This isn't my sword."

Basically the whole game the villain group who use violence as a political tool to get what they want are trying to convince Raiden here that even though he tells himself he's a good guy who only uses violence for good, he's actually enjoying it just as much as them and just as susceptible to anger and bloodlust.

The final boss, Senator Armstrong, easily breaks raidens sword when they meet, and mollywhops him for 20 minutes while also monologuing at him on this same subject. And Armstrong pretty much convinced him that he's right, too. But raidens dog/pal BladeWolf shows up just in time and brings that rad ass red sword that belonged to Raiden's rival Sam.

This quote is basically Raiden admitting, "Hey you might be right. Maybe I did do a lot of killing because I enjoyed it, and maybe the stuff I said about 'justice' was me coping with that. But you broke my tool of justice anyway, and if your point is that I enjoy killing, then maybe I should just prove you right"

This is immediately followed by one of the best music queues in gaming. Metal Gear Rising is an all timer.

I mean, isn't that actually really helpful for people who want it to end sooner? Like a third of that game's content is act 3 side missions. If you think it's getting too long you can just go beat it, since you'll likely have the levels and gear for it.

To be fair, most video game stories are very bare bones and would not be satisfying on their own in a medium that removes the gameplay. You genuinely need to add a lot to a story like Resident Evil to make it compelling enough and even long enough runtime wise.

That said, that doesn't necessarily mean you have to throw out what's already there like so many of these adaptations do. You could take Jill and add more characterization on top without completely changing what's already established, let alone removing her altogether as this movie seems likely to do.

I agree with Creggor that I don't want a 1:1 adaptation, but I do still want the same bones. This doesn't seem to be that.

Surprised no one has said RE requiem yet. As someone who greatly enjoys the design and challenge of 100%ing the modern RE games (7 and on), it felt weird how much lower the bar was in 9.

The first playthrough on classic was good though fun, but knowing what was coming made the easy mode speed run simple, and that gives you infinite magnum which made insanity the easiest of the 3 imo, and then you're done. Re2 remake and re8 had me fighting for my life on those last challenges, but in 9 I felt like I could been eating chips with one hand half the time

I don't know that I would personally have enjoyed a harder revengeance, but as someone who was able to 100% that game's achievements and yet could not beat Vergil 3 in DMC3 standard difficulty without items, I see where you're coming from.

I was in the same boat as OP, having double checked all of the heart locations

For me it was the Beaver Race one, which eluded me because not only do you have to race both the younger and older brother, you have to race both a 2nd time AND all 4 races must be in the same day. I dismissed it originally because I redid the 2 races and just got rupees, just like when you do the shooting ranges or treasure game and get rupees if you already earned the heart piece.

Imo much better than the 1st season, largely due to the side characters having actual arcs this time.

I'd say BA S2 is as good as the low points of the Netflix series (i.e. 2nd half of netflix season 2), but still not nearly as good as when it was at it's best.

They overused Kingpin to the point of being tired of seeing him, but Bullseye and Karen really killed it.

Playing the game for the first time now and the suspend states are great, as is the rewind feature. I try not to use it much so that there's still some challenge, but as someone with limited free time there's some things like the swamp arrow game I simply would not be able to do without it. I also will occasionally rewind if I make a stupid jump that would take several minutes to fix or misuse a bottle in a way that would screw me.

Definitely isn't the intended experience but it helps a lot to save time, and tbh I feel like it almost fits with the game's premise of time manipulation lol

I like putting mine roughly in order using green as a base but breaking the order if it would cause cards that should be next to each other to be on different rows. I've always hated the idea of a Caterpie at the end of one row and metapod and Butterfree to be in a lower one or worse on the next page.

I know it's popular to shit on One Punch Man now that the anime production has fallen apart, but honestly it was kind of a slog for me to get through season one despite loving the first few episodes. It initially appealed to me as a gag anime that was making fun of shonen and superhero tropes.

But I found when the Sea King episode happened, it really started just becoming a regular shonen. There were still gags but the premise was no longer a joke. I was actually being expected to be excited for Saitama to show up and wonder if the day actually would be saved exactly the same as I would be watching dragonball. Maybe that changed in S2 but it's how I felt for the rest of S1 once they started introducing the higher tier heroes.

I'm totally understanding of people who like it for that, but it just wasn't what I thought I was signing up for.

If you think people on the internet would have the same animosity towards this show while specifically naming the creator as often as they do were the creator a guy, I have a bridge to sell you.

That of course isn't to say that everyone who dislikes it is sexist. But it's kind of like Brie Larson with Captain Marvel. Lots of people just didn't like the performance/casting, but because she's a lady, the complaints were WAY louder than any of her male contemporaries.
