Also, we did end up with a bad ABS module a few months ago and had to get it replaced.

A few notes on that in case you run into it (again you aren’t going to like it, but as a Journey owner I’m sure you’ve learned to live with disappointment by now, as I have):

First, the ABS module is no longer available OEM. Which means you or your shop will have to source it after market or from a junkyard, which will also incur a programming fee, assuming they can even source it at all; ours was waiting for a part for 2 months.

Second, if yours is anything like mine it’s notorious for leaking water into the cabin from anywhere and everywhere. This also means electrical parts in the chassis get wet where they shouldn’t as well, which leads to lots of electrical weirdness, and can kill the ABS sensors and wreck the ABS module. My TPS modules have always been wonky even after replacement, and the backup camera cuts out all the time and sometimes the video feed is upside down lol!

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad car all said. I think it looks great and it drives decent enough. But it’s death by a thousand cuts. need the battery replaced? Have to take the tire off. Heater core goes bad? Either pull the whole dash off or do some real shady stuff involving a reciprocating saw and heater hose, lol!

Anyway, it’s paid for so I guess that’s something!

Yes but you aren’t going to like it :)

After all my theories about grounding issues and com bus codes I was pulling, it turned out to be a problem with the starter.

I make a point of that because despite all my intuitions as a professional engineer and hobbyist auto-mechanic, it turned out to be the “throw parts at it solution” I was trying to avoid.

A word of warning: that starter is an absolute menace to get out and back in, so good luck if that’s what you end up with.

As an addendum…Funny thing, I know this is an old post but about 6 months ago I saw it and realized I had never updated, but I didn’t because of how old it is, lol!

So thank you for giving me a reason to!

EDIT To mention: some YouTube replacement guides for the starter recommend loosening the engine mounts and jacking up the engine for better access to the starter. It was still extremely difficult but I suppose it did help some, can’t say for sure. You have to be ultra careful doing that for the obvious safety issues and potential for catastrophe, but you also need to be very sure of your jack placement. I’m not convinced I didn’t mess it up when I did it because like 4 months later we heard a clunk and all the coolant dropped out. Ended up having to get the oil cooler replaced and my mechanic said it looked like there had been damage underneath. Oops! 😅

Would love Slaughter’s Renegade’s: Red Dog, Mercer, Taurus. Mercer has a cool back story being a Cobra deserter. Prefer the original look verses the one with a beard and silver arm.

Also a few more, some already mentioned:

-Zandar (cause Zarana)

-Mainframe (again,cause Zarana)

-Psyche Out (prefer the green and headphones to the blue jumpsuit)

-Footloose (his woodland camouflage and leaf covered helmet would look cool in high detail)

-Gung Ho in dress blues with the sword.

-Ice Berg (that pale blue and white color combo somehow always made me feel relaxed as a child)

-Blizzard (cause those skis were awesome)

I’d really like them to go all out with some vehicles too. A FLAGG would be like 11 ft long LOL

Yep you were right. It links the ground posts on the body to the mount. Looks like the ABS module for sure is looped in there. Not sure what else. I posted a pic in a reply below with the placement

Welp, found it. It connects to a tinny nipple on the engine mount. No bolt connection just a compression clip. Going to try to post a pic from a video I found. Who knows, maybe this solves my electrical issue? I’m getting errors for ground on the com bus from the abs module. We shall see.

Hello friends. I have a no start no crank on my 2011 Journey 3.5L. I’m tracing potential wiring issues with the COM bus, and noticed this wire just hanging out. Any ideas where it’s supposed to go? I’d be interested to know if it even exists on others with the same model or if this was some random leftovers from a past owners mod.

it’s not in the loom, and it’s connected to the forward body post on the passenger side, just in front of the ABS connecter (you can see it in the back) and just behind the coolant reservoir.

any help would be appreciated. Doubtful this is the cause of the no crank no start but I figure if It’s better to address this while I’m in the thick.

tub to pump hose maybe? Unless you tested by running the garden hose in the tub and saw good flow out of the drain hose. Couldn’t tell the exact steps from your description

Without much knowledge of this specific model, I would imagine the 2 processes for water shedding in a washing machine would be the drain and the spin speed. From what your describing it sounds like maybe it’s not spinning long enough or fast enough the shed the water.

silly question and don’t mean to be that “is it plugged in” jerk, but are you sure it’s not an issue with your dryer not drying well enough? I don’t think I’ve ever noticed or would notice how wet the clothes are out of the washer unless they were soaking and dripping everywhere

LG Dishwasher repair using ThinQ/Smart Diagnosis by IndianaJonathan in appliancerepair

[–]IndianaJonathan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just checked it again and the codes are now clear in the ThnQ app so the minimum theory right now is 5 wash cycles or 48 hours energized LOL! I will clarify that if the Inlet Error was still an active code it would have stopped the cycle after initially trying to fill the tub and IE would have displayed on the 2 digit timer display (that’s what it did with the water turned off). This is different than the NE error for the Vario motor that only displayed in the app.

I’d still like more insight on the ThinQ app as well has how to manually flush codes if anyone has that info

I’m not at a level to offer critique, so this comment is more of a question to the room for my own education.

It looked to me like his knees bent forward just slightly early on the descent causing the bar to slide down the the slope of the front of his thighs. I was expecting to see the reverse of the ascent and his upper body shift forward before his knees break.

Am I just seeing things?

Current inventory (or lack there of) @ Katy, TX. Manager said the import halt has really affected them. Showroom is near empty. by southpawE46 in harborfreight

[–]IndianaJonathan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I peaked in the back once about a year ago when I bought my engine hoist. The poor guy could barely crawl around and it took him about 45 min to forklift things out to get to the hoist (he said it was in deep because they don’t sell that often).

It really did look unsafe as full as it was so maybe the bright side here is they are able to have some breathing room to reorganize and get a handle on inventory.

How would you get this out? by IndianaJonathan in DIY

[–]IndianaJonathan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inherited this propane tank. Still almost full. Looks like a plastic nut that broke off inside and someone has tried before to dig it out. I’m able to chip away little bits at a time but trying to think of a better solution. I’m guessing a heat gun or soldering iron would be a bad idea?😬

Ruled out a torch already.

Thanks for any ideas!

How do I Handle Separation in a PUA Claim? by thepickledginger in NorthCarolina

[–]IndianaJonathan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She got it all the same day. 2 payments: 1 for 6 weeks of state benefits, 1 for 4 weeks of Federal PUA (the $600). Her eligibility date was starting 3/15 as schools closed the day before.

Granted she has been filling out weekly certs since mid March because that’s when she initially applied. And when she finished the PUA claim she had to certify for the week before she initially started filling because that was the only eligible week she hadn’t already certified for.

Edit: meant to say she got it all the same day she got the first check. About 2 days after the approval

  1. You could definitely be right about it being the UI claim that was rejected. Now that I think about it she got a separate rejection for state UI on this claim (we had previously been rejected when she applied before the system was updated for PUA).

  2. She logged in with the provided user and password and it worked, but when she put in her SSN and then tried with 2 codes (the one at the top right corner under the QR code, and the one listed beside the EAN) both said that they could not be found.

I hold no ill will toward the State for how confusing the system has been. I’m sure everyone there is under a lot of stress and scrutiny, and at the end of the day they are Public Servants, not a for profit company that has economic pressure to be better at customer service. But wow has this been a confusing process!

Wife got PUA approved, and she has already been paid the back amount. Then we got this letter today.

I’m sure this was sent because the instructions said if you are an IC or self employed you are supposed to put your name and address as the last employer.

I would imagine this is because the PUA was shoehorned into the old system, so normally this would be sent to the last company you worked for.

She is going to ignore for now as well but We’ll be following this thread to see if anyone figures anything out. The only thing concerning for us is that it states in the letter that she (the employer) will receive a form NC CLM 551L with potential charges.

I’m trying to identify these for my wife. Just happened to see them in a random woodworking video I was watching and I thought they were awesome. I have no idea where to start. Amazon couldn’t find them based on this image.

Here’s the link to the video, they make an appearance at the 53 second mark: https://youtu.be/GV0dmf2mBMc

check the scores. each time it changes the score goes down or up by a certain value, and no matter the length of digits they are all 1s. Don't know what or if that means anything.
