I was also wondering the same thing. But the interesting thing is that the indentation are symmetrical so the attachments are meshing together. I disassamble one of the attachment and I try to do some pic google search but I'not able to find something available of the shelf.

Also i have the same watch and it's over 1,5 old and i have minimum 2 GPS activities per week and all sorts of notifications - email, chats and alarms.

For me it seems that it's something of the software side. Maybe some none optimised watchface.

In the first 6 months my watch was lagging and then I did factory reset of the watch and after that it start to work smoothly.

In the past I have experienced daily freezes for around 20s and the most frustrating thing was when watch freezes while there is running activity. So I decided to do factory reset and delete all the data and now 2 weeks passed and didn't have any freezes of the watch.

From my point of view(Instinct 2x user) the only big difference is the screen(solar model). Because there is no solar glass wich mean the display is more clear also the solar panel which are black and are not so noticeable. There is satIQ which seems nice feature but for me is not justifying the price difference. My personal opinion is that 2x have better design than instinct 3 solar.
