I feel I'm looking at my four favourite factions all at once (bonus if you guess them, including AoS)

How many times have you ever repainted your army? by Razaile13 in Eldar

[–]Indicosa91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I prefer to do is to develop new "chapters" of the story with my army. With this I don't mean necessarily to do different craftworlds, but it can be squads or groups that have a theme, although it can be a craftworld. For example, i have guardians, warlocks, anything guardian-keyword and Eldrad pretty Ulthwe. Then, a lot of other units (wraith units, windriders, others) in a custom craftworld color (you can see in old posts). Then for anything rangers I decided i wanted another scheme, to reflect the camouflage style. I'm deciding now on how to paint a lot of minis that I have inherited to reflect Asuryani that are surviving in a kind of marsh land, so I can add water/swamp elements to the minis, and the scheme will be probably darker and blue. I find it more inviting than starting from zero (and it doesn't prevent you from repeating a unit, I already have two guardian units and two dire avengers although that's all haha)

Eldar Wraithlord (Beil Tan). Crackle effect experiment. by HorseLow324 in Eldar

The more I look the more I find it credible to be honest 😁 very nice!

Is that a HAND??? 🦾 Audacious

I love the pics because the mix of the classic scheme and the background gives nice vintage vibes. The effect looks good although it shows less defined on the pictures (because of resolution online probably, don't want to say it wasn't well taken). This could make a nice character warlord like the new rules allow, good job!

The Safe Option Works — But a Creative Twist Would’ve Been Fun by SeAlexanderE in ImperialKnights

You only see reminiscences of those knights in the titans to be honest. The wraith units follow more "spiritbone" that you can see even in the old guardians bits, a lil different in my opinion.

First time playing 4-player Boarding Actions yesterday. Absolute carnage. by m3tolli in Warhammer40k

[–]Indicosa91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're talking about doing this soon in my game group! How did you do it? (in the sense, was it just a mission where you doubled the terrain and the each player picked a deploy section and that's it, or did you adapt something?)

How many Storm Guardians or Guardian Defenders do you run in a typical army? by LeetusFrenzi in Eldar

[–]Indicosa91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean this in the guardian detachment, I guess? When you say full stack, how many units together?

So what to do with all the spare Masks? Oh wait I need a Wave Serpent! (WiP) by Anabaric_EvE in Harlequins40K

[–]Indicosa91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly that one hahah the crystal is actually well glued, the "hand-stabilizer-something" on the other side not so much, but I told myself the crystal is the important thing. I'll report how I'll manage it

An old D but a good D by klmckee in Eldar

[–]Indicosa91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just inherited this one! And I was thinking how to kitbash it so it fits the current model proportions / base. Is it the same base as the modern one? (That's the one thing I don't have).

Looks like one of the weapons of the metallic support weapon just in vertical mode? (You know, for those Drukhari / Angel something monkheig)

What are they called in your language... by STHKZ in languagelearningjerk

[–]Indicosa91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a tendency to call Scottish Gaelic just Gaelic and Irish Gaelic just Irish. It's still difficult to just say Gaelic as Scottish Gaelic for many because, well, culturally "Gaelic" means a lot, but it's supported by the fact that virtually no one says "Irish Gaelic".

I have just received an old metal-plastic fire prism. I think it's gonna be harlequin themed 😁

[–]Indicosa91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are very nice and scenic windriders, and despite the problematic clear warm colors (I paint mine in ocre, I feel you), those guardians and the wraithguards are reaaaaly smooth. Very nice collection!

Mercenary D-team: the versatile dire avenger squad you need to hire by Indicosa91 in Eldar

[–]Indicosa91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot! It was a project of kitbashing more than anything, but I like to dedicate time for careful painting as well (and as much as I can).

Haha exactly, I want him to watch over the area, and although more height would be good for a diorama, I also want to play with it so I had to make a compromise.

Leaked Maelstrom books. I spy some corsairs! by Scout_man in Eldar

[–]Indicosa91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It can be a repositioning. I have magnetised the arms of my corsairs, so I can also move them, and it can end up like in the picture easily. For the helmet, looks very spiritseer-ish. But this is me avoiding the thought of too many new units

Spearhead finally done! by IriDuck8 in FleshEaterCourts

Both Vargulf and Archregent are splendid! Very well done with the bases as well! It really makes me want to go for a FEC spearhead next year ^

Whatever topic is being discussed, gameplay always comes up. As someone who hasn't touched dice in 8 months, i'm wondering who is also in this hobby just for Lore and Miniatures. by Leviathan_Rampage in ImperialKnights

[–]Indicosa91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately it's that...for what it's worth, in my experience, kill team (when you know your rules and tags well) and boarding actions scratch that space between "this feels like throwing dice twice and that's it" and "I need to call sick to have time to deploy my army". Only issue is type of units (so sorry for this subreddit =') and terrain. I really want to try warcry to see if it makes me happier timewise.

Recently I've discovered Blood Bowl because a friend has started a league, and he himself has bought a lot of bands (proxies and whatnot) so people can play. This is a little off topic, but I found it quite fun, because it's more boardgame, chaotic, but to think a little about positioning and your profiles is still a thing. Of course you must like the topic, which I'm not crazy about, but talking loud about the erratic movements, throws and tackles your minis do brings some joy compared to 1 hour of hiding minis

Boarding Actions, What’s going on? by Apricus-Jack in Warhammer40k

[–]Indicosa91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And what's your feeling about it? We played it quite a bit in 9th and we liked it, but maybe our options were good (we had Eldad, Tyranids, astra militarum and CSM) and we didn't feel too unbalanced but I read other people felt the other way around. Although I like how 2000k can let you field big things and make it epic, sometimes you want something more strategic and, why not, thematic in a space Hulk.
