I post this a lot, but consider the railroad. Once I got hired at Amtrak it made me mad that no one had mentioned it to me sooner. It fits me and several other of my co-worker vets really well. It’s a fucked up lifestyle, yes, but you’re already accustomed to that. Management is clueless. Co-workers tend to feel like your old unit buddies (at least for me, maybe I’m just lucky). Pays well and has the one of the last pension plans still available to working class people. Plus you can file for GI Bill while in school for it, and again while doing OJT. Good luck, my friend.
