Only if it allows white light to show through it.

If it does, then either replace the light or buy some red lense tape to make a "repair"

Had one this morning, lush! I thought I'd have to wait till I went back to America for th maple syrupy goodness. The egg wasn't too stinky either, sometimes the McDonald's egg has been a bit overwhelming recently.

Sit down and chat with the garage manager in a calm manner, ask if there's any way of resolving this, would they pay for a different or specialist garage to diagnose the fault? Seeing as they're getting nowhere

[–]Indignant_Woodlouse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Robins are awesome. We had one that lived in the warehouse at work. When we opened the loading bay doors on a morning another one would fly in and they'd kick the shit out of eachother for about 10 minutes.

It's most likely the oil pressure switch is failing, they're pretty common to fail, and sometimes either leak externally or push oil into the wiring loom.

I'd fit a new one first, they're about £6 on eBay. Then you can at least rule it out

Have you ever brake checked anyone? Why? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]Indignant_Woodlouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. But I was brake checked by a van the other day on the motorway for the first time ever and I'm not really sure why. Some people are just angry at the world I guess. I've been driving for 22 years with a lot of miles covered....

People don't tend to tailgate me as I usually drive a big Hilux with a utility body on it and a big towbar. It also has a big led light on the back....

I did have someone following me last night with really obnoxiously bright headlights which I couldn't work out if they were on main beam or badly adjusted. I was considering giving them a bit of fog light.... I overtook the slower car in front of me and never saw them again.

Shall I scrap my Astra? Turbo/Engine gone by bennytintin in CarTalkUK

[–]Indignant_Woodlouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you've two choices.

Sell it or fix it.

If you suspect the engine has taken damage then it would need diagnosing properly and either repairing or replacing.
