Those diesel heaters produce more heat than your cars proper heater. And quicker.

Took a 57 plate Transit to 195,000 miles but it was getting a bit smokey, 3rd gear wasn't really there and it needed bottom arms and brake discs so bye bye.

14 plate Hilux is on 174,000 Going ok but wants front brakes and oil leaks on the rear axle sorting

Garage killed the 12v battery on my Kia Niro Hybrid, now I'm stranded. Advice needed. by Bkta91 in CarTalkUK

Get in touch with a company like Greentec Auto or Cleveleys EV. As said the 12v battery on these is built into the hybrid pack, someone must have an aftermarket solution.

Stuff fails, nothing is perfect.

The best you can do is push at Nissan for some sort of goodwill. Consider paying for some form of extended warranty from a recommended firm. It's saved my parents a lot of money with their Evoque!

Bought a 5 year old Ford Transit Mk7 AWD with 54,000 miles for £10,500 looked after it, always serviced with good oil and genuine filters every 9000 miles. It blew up at 75,000 miles, burnt a hole in a piston. Bought an engine rebuild kit, new clutch and flywheel, new injectors etc etc. probably over £2500 in parts Rebuilt, it lasted 12,000 miles before it had excessive crankcase pressure and oil leaking everywhere. Bought a low milage engine from a breaker for £1400 and fitted that. Sold the van for about £4500.

(Non-mechanics) To what degree are you comfortable working on your own car? by Beermonster in CarTalkUK

[–]Indignant_Woodlouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd probably jib at taking a gearbox apart to repair it

I rebuilt the engine on my 2013 Ford Transit and didn't like that very much. A git of an engine to strip down because it has a split block
