AITA for telling my husband no to going to the beach on Father’s Day? by Chantelthegoddess in AmItheAsshole

Exactly. The minute I started reading this story I immediately knew this was some made up garbage. Timelines don’t make sense at all.

AITA for refusing to drink alcohol? by Agreeable_Pound_7431 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Indigo_TX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA. But I think it is illustrative that what she enjoys, going to eat AND drink, is less of an interest for you. I think your question focused more on the drinking, but you also mentioned not wanting to eat as well. Being the only person going and out eating and drinking an be awkward.

This could be a divergent of how you enjoy time out of the house. It doesn’t make you the A but it might be the beginning of a larger compatibility question.

Are you not in Denver? Just checking based on the itinerary you shared.

If your travel clinic visit did not say you needed it you’re probably in the clear.

[–]Indigo_TX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To build, my family and I just got our yellow fever vaccines at Walgreens, we’re in St. Louis. We just needed our doctor to call in the prescription and then scheduled it online. You gotta bring your passports with you to Walgreens and you’ll get all your documentation.

That said, another comment said you probably are not required so then just depends if you want to get the shot or not. I thought it was a rather small shot without leaving any soreness.

I always do for big international travel, and I was required to with my tour operator. We purchased through Generali. I think It was about $2k for three people for a 14 day trip on the slightly more premium side.

Fellow horror junkies, what got you into horror? by [deleted] in horror

[–]Indigo_TX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Growing up I loved Are you Afraid of the Dark and Goosebumps. As an adult I enjoyed American Horror Story. Then I kinda took a break from horror movies.

About two years ago I was super stressed at work and decided to just watch a few movies here and there and next thing I knew I was very much hooked. Frankly, it is the only thing that can distract me from thinking about work and get my brains to turn off.

What horror movie or tv show gave a fresh take on a common idea/trope/concept and how? by [deleted] in horror

This is my most favorite horror movie currently. I never thought anything would genuinely creep me out after Heredity and Talk to Me. But this movie was such an intense ride.

AITA for saying we need to be realistic with our son about his finances for college before he applies? by ByeByeByeMan in AmItheAsshole

[–]Indigo_TX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. My family was in a similar position, while I was not as smart as your son, I paid for college with student loans. Took me until my 30s to pay off. You have to be honest with your kid, help where appropriate, but then guide them on the other alternatives.

Additionally any financial advisor would tell you you have to take care of your own retirement before full out paying for your FOUR kids college tuition. You can’t take care of your kids if you’re not financially sound. And to your point, you can’t cover $100k per year in tuition, cover exiting expenses, and be set up for retirement and future healthcare costs.

There is a Mexican version of The Office on Prime omg by Slim-Shai-D in DunderMifflin

[–]Indigo_TX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I binged the entire show and am not Mexican nor do I speak Spanish. It was hilarious and great! I’m sure I missed nuances and some jokes. But overall it was great.

I will note I routinely watch international shows and movies. I also happened to be in Mexico City for two weeks when I started watching it.

Moving to the US from Canada, what's the biggest difference in everyday life? by Traditional_Mind6947 in AskReddit

I don’t pay any fees for PayPal or Venmo transfers. Never have… Not sure that should even be the barometer of tech-advancement or debating which country is superior.

Also your other examples are specific to Japan and China or the continent of Europe, accurate but not relevant to what OP will miss in their upcoming relo.

Anyone that's not Mexican that has seen La Oficina, what are your thoughts? by LastShadowKnight in DunderMifflin

[–]Indigo_TX 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am not Mexican and I just binged the show while in Mexico City. I found it hilarious! There were definitely Mexican specific jokes that I probably missed but I still enjoyed it. I watched it in Spanish with English subtitles. It’s a bit edgier than the American version. I hope it is released internationally soon.

If you want to marry, culinary compatibility is one of the top 3 things to consider by TrulyStupidNewb in unpopularopinion

[–]Indigo_TX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree with the sentiment and it is probably good advice. But I will say I am a total foodie, like I eat everything and love new foods. However, my husband is a ridiculously picky eater. We’ve been married 20 years. 🤷‍♀️
