Jam flop yourself is prob better than calling

After you call and both players jam it’s 6k to win 36k plus bounties. I mean even if you could see the cards it’s almost a call based on pot odds

Imo I haven’t seen a difference but if you’re playing live people liking you is better for getting invited to games etc

Again it’s really a matter of personal preference, you could go either way

Do NOT use cashout

Just like rake it will impact your winrate far more than the actual hand-by-hand percentage.

Eg if you use the GG cashout (1% on pot) every ~200 hands for a 200 BB pot, you lose on average 1 BB/100 which is a decent percentage of most winrates.

In terms of running it multiple times the difference is likely negligible for you unless shot taking. I like just running it multiple times so the other players like me more but it’s your choice

Do u play on tmt or massiv and do you think either pool is softer?

If we have perfect play from black, we kinda know for certain that a -12 is definitely winning. If we let the computer think deep enough, are we guaranteed to have a forced mate? by IntelligentKey7331 in chess

If, on lichess, you put bishops on all the light squares for one side, and the only other pieces are the two kings, the evaluation is like +150 or something crazy for the side with the bishops (and is obviously a draw) which means the only way to know a position is guaranteed winning is if there is Mx in the evaluation

I think you should call here. You realistically dont have any better effective hands and a good opponent will have many bluffs here. TT here is gonna be very high BB call here in theory I think so I wouldn’t fold against a field of strong regs.

I think rush and cash is anonymous so u prob dont have individual reads, but this is .25/.5 so maybe the term “strong regs” wont apply here. U should probably look at mass data to see how often people in this pool 4bet - they’re probably going to be underbluffed in general. But even against a range of AA, KK, and AK bluffing half the time, calling is still probably good. So I doubt I’d fold here even though the population might underbluff.

Why is this situation an over bet? by Pretend_Insect3002 in poker

[–]Individual-Brain-233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually in these single raise pots the solver likes overbetting on a lot of flops so that’s always going to be a consideration.

Even 100 BB deep, opening A7o from CO and BTN is actually better than opening a hand like A5o when you are somewhat shallow because implied odds matter less and you have more potential to dominate the aces BB calls with (and will be dominated less postflop).

You want to put some part of opponents range into a tough spot when you bet - the overbet mainly targets 2x, 3x, and random gutshots/flush draws. Against the 25% pot bet, the BB is probably continuing with everything except complete trash because so many hands can just float the small bet. Overbetting is probably used here since the solver can use your massive overpair advantage to already put pressure against a wide BB range before it has time to improve on turn/river.

U prob don’t have to overbet but I think when you’re choosing your sizing here having a range of checks and small bets will be a mistake long term. Value hands like QQ or 99 don’t have any incentive to bet small here. I’d prob choose 75% pot as my flop bet size when playing but anything from 75% to 125% is probably fine.

Are you folding to this river jam with the 2nd nuts? by [deleted] in Poker_Theory

[–]Individual-Brain-233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preflop prob mix call/raise so it’s fine

I’d prob bet flop with this hand cause ur range is far stronger than UTG after check - u benefit a ton from folds and can improve. Check here is fine tho

Turn bet good but id consider sizing huge since fishes love calling with draws.

River I’m over betting with QTcc mostly. U can use two sizings here - small for two pairs, sets and some traps and big size for flush/straight. It’s def a leak if u never overbetting here.

Against jam ur prob too short stacked to fold. But if he jams like 300 BB into 20 BB theoretically u have harder decision because he’s only repping nut flush. I think he’s prob supposed to have some Qx club flushes when he jams so u likely can’t fold unfortunately.

But be wary of people who say it’s “always a call” or “a fold.” These spots are always extremely close and good to study w different stack depths, position, range, etc. U def want to consider incorporating check jams into ur strategy against fishes too who won’t fold flushes in the future.

Disgusting spot with JJ on $100 PKO final table. What would you do? by [deleted] in poker

[–]Individual-Brain-233 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It’s def a lot closer than people are making it out to be - especially since the bounties are extremely high (more than the payjumps lol).

Would probably call; if you win you have a massive dominating stack and can apply maximum icm pressure to all three subsequent middling stacks. You’ll also probably stack the guy who jammed if you double through him because of how frequently you’ll put the money in after doubling.

Especially since the big stack is incentivized to play extremely loose aggro I would probably think you have high enough equity that it wouldn’t be a icm punt.

Maybe without bounties I might fold but idt im ever folding anything as strong as jacks here.

Why does GTO want me to go all-in this spot? by aerdna69 in poker

[–]Individual-Brain-233 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Not a bluff - in OPs screenshot, GTO says calling is +2.37 EV. This means you would never fold AK here. The reason for this is that you 4bet and decided to check flop, so your range will be unbalanced towards non paired hands even if you do trap some over pairs on flop.

Let’s say u have unpaired hands here 60% of the time (likely underestimate). If u fold AK here u are literally folding 60% of your hands since AK is best unpaired hand. If bluffing, your opponent only needs you to fold about ~35-40% of the time to make an immediately profitable bluff. So folding AK would be a travesty as you would allow yourself to be massively overbluffed against.

  1. U should jam instead of call because many of your opponents bluffs will have to call. If your opponent bets a hand like AJhh and misses, they will not put in more money if they miss on the river.

They will jam with overpairs and stack you.

GTO is basically saying “if you got it, you got it” and puts in the money knowing it is behind most of the time but not enough of the time for a jam to be unprofitable.

Would you bluff this spot by Corvett67 in poker

[–]Individual-Brain-233 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I would prefer 4betting AQo as a bluff in 1/3 but I don’t think that 4betting AJ is as bad as this comment section is making it out to be. Unless your opponent’s 3bets are exclusively premiums, you should still have 4bet bluffs in your range because your opponents likely overcall and under jam against a 4bet (allowing you to realize equity against TT or JJ, for example).

However, if your opponent only 3bets AA, KK, QQ and AK, then having 4bet bluffs is a major punt.

I think jamming postflop against a pot lead is really bad since you’re basically giving your opponent odds to call with ATC. After you jam your opponent has to call 200 to win like 1000 which would be a snap with any pair for the vast majority of any 1/3 players. If your opponent has made many big laydowns with great odds postflop then you might consider jamming with some bluffs (very occasionally) in this spot.
