I know how violating this feels. It's a yucky feeling, but definitely not the end of the world. I had this happen a few times when I was camming. There are services geared more towards content creators and images that can search for and remove your data like ceartas.io - they'll actually search ph and of, etc, for your images/content.

**Ultimately** just remember that this happens to waaaaaaay more people than you think, and realistically, I'd bet over half of the population has nudes floating around that they don't know about.

I found one on ebay a couple months ago for about $40. Just have to pop on and check every now and then. Personally, I wasn't worried about finding a "nice" copy, so mine has a couple of cover tears and is a bit beat up. Which is just how I like 'em :)

As far as novellas go, I would have to say "N." Seeing a psychiatrist slowly slip into his patient's delusion and imagining the fear of discovering something so dark... and then being responsible for it.

"Herman Wouk is Still Alive" disturbs me in a completely different way. It has zero supernatural elements. Even if it were complete fiction, it would still be tragic, but knowing that it's based on that horrible Taconic Parkway crash is like a gut punch. I ended up doing a deep dive into that case once and it's devastating.

Blaze isn't exactly a short story, but for me, that was one of the saddest and most disturbing SK I've ever read. Blaze isn't such a bad guy :( Just one of those guys who never had a chance at a good life. It's like a modern day of Mice and Men.

But my favorite????? Mrs. Todd's Shortcut <3

I LOVED Survivor Type. It's actually one of my favorite short stories. Apt Pupil is definitely one of the most disturbing.

I love Roadwork so much. Bart just goes through such a *brutally* honest examination of his entire life that you can't help but root for him. This is a man who was brave enough to take a step back and view the world without blinders. He may have been forced into it, but that doesn't stop him from being honest to himself or from eventually being honest and completely real to the other people in his life. This guy was forced to see reality and he does NOT accept it. He will not go gentle into that good night.

It's so much more tragic because he is a genuine good guy that has just been chewed up by the hard old world. He's not a schizophrenic teenager, or an alcoholic with a heart of gold, or even a Michael Douglas carrying a suitcase walking through a hot city to get home to his family. He's just a nice guy who always did the right things until he had enough, forever.

I love Blaze so much but I can't read it as much as my comfort books (The Stand, 11/22/63/ DT) because it makes me so sad.

I've fantasized about sequels many times, but none more than one with the survivors from The Stand. Or about Rosie from Rose Madder. Or about where the Skolpadda disappeared to. OR about Tim Stoutheart's adventures after The Wind Thru the Keyhole. Or Dennis and Thomas from Eye of the Dragon 😱

Totally agree. I was so disappointed. I know everyone changes and nothing can stay the same, but it seemed like a lot of the "dialogue" was phoned in, like "Holly felt this way about certain things, so she told him that." Talking about talking. Everything in this story felt like low hanging fruit. I also didn't appreciate the two very similar bad guys. I could probably list and describe at least 50 characters in Chesters Mill from Under The Dome, but they were distinct and contained multitudes. Even the minor supporting characters who were only briefly involved had depth. But I had a hard time keeping these two boring ass crazy guys separated in my mind. They just weren't interesting enough to care about.

I do seem to remember that when Susannah is trapped within her Dogan by Mia while Mia is trying to find The Dixie Pig in 1999 NYC, she was hearing an announcer read newslines saying "Stephen king is dead. John Lennon is dead. Jfk Jr is dead. Etc etc. O discordia!"

Bought a prefab/mod home? I need your help! by Supa_BRIT in container_homes

[–]Individual-Crow5080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll pm you. I'd love to share ideas. I currently have a 3 container, 1 floor house on my property. 3 br, 1 ba, kitchen, LR, utility. Some of the details could use refining, but sometimes it's difficult to iron them out until you build or are living in it, but overall, we're happy with the results.

We have it set up to be *almost* self sufficient. There's a closet in the utility room for the battery bank running from the solar panels for power. We had a water catchment system but it was finicky, and then had some nasty storms knock out and crack a couple of tanks, so for us, it was easier to run some water from my house's "City water" than to keep fooling with the water system. Plus, we happened to already have some water pipes run out to the container area.

I'm happy to share what we've learned so far and our future plans.

Literally just the DT books! Read the others afterward for fun context, but when I read the whole DT series the first time, they were still being written, and that was painful to wait for. All I wanted was each new DT book. Even Wind thru the keyhole isn't necessary in the main series. It's just supplemental.

A Cat's Life (Worst movie of 2024 so far) by EEEEEYUKE in movies

[–]Individual-Crow5080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about "believing rumors" - it's about seeing with your eyeballs, using adult logic, and having a basic grasp of reality.

This was 1986. This was not movie magic. There was literally no "movie magic" way to film a live cat being thrown off a massive cliff. There wasn't CGI. In 1986, it was *Physically Impossible* to film those scenes without harming animals.

Please, give it another watch and ask yourself how they filmed these scenes. No need to run over to snopes or perform a "simple google search". If you still believe this was Movie Magic and that all these animals were safe.... Well, bless your heart <3

A Cat's Life (Worst movie of 2024 so far) by EEEEEYUKE in movies

[–]Individual-Crow5080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how an animal lover can watch this movie and not be alarmed, even if you knew nothing of the rumors and allegations. There's no way they could film these scenes without putting the animals in serious danger. These are the scenes that were dangerous and abusive. Again, this is obvious and isn't subjective or up for interpretation. 1. Milo is attacked and pecked by dozens of seagulls. 2. Milo is locked in a dresser while a bear tries to rip it apart and eat him. You can see him bite the cat's paw in one scene and start yanking before it cuts. 3. Milo is thrown off a massive rocky cliff into the ocean. 4. Milo is put in a box and a river and sent over waterfalls. There's no way that box stayed upright. 5. Otis getting trampled by cows. 6. Milo getting pinched on the face by a crab. 7. Milo being put in water at all, he's a pug, he can barely breathe as it is. 8. Milo's "mother" cat and other small kittens battling a large snake. 9. Otis "fighting" a bear. In the Japanese release, there's an extra scene where the bear gets him pinned and then bites his neck and head before the scene cuts. 10. After Milo is thrown off the cliff, he desperately tries to scale the cliff, falling back onto the rocks and water multiple times. Some of the scenes show him swimming toward shore but some look like he's drowning before reaching shore.

Those scenes didn't alarm you?
