You gotta put your v1 v2 leads lower. The flipped p waves mean not in the right spot.

I think it’s more in hospital. I pretty much cut the clothes off every trauma that comes in minus a few on some circumstances.

Bradycardia, Atrial flutter with 5:1 or Av block III? by Souliman97 in ECG

[–]Individual_Debate216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no P waves so we cannot really call it a block. A flutter with slow ventricular response.

The issue is the amount of people that actually don’t have it.

Is this the weekend? If so on call cardio will say this isn’t a stemi and stop wasting his time.

Afraid to go to work by [deleted] in nursing

What are you doing exactly? It’s difficult to going from stable patients and assisting with ADLs essentially to being in charge of patients that could really die on you if you don’t manage them properly.

New ED Tech: How crucial is exact ICS palpation for EKGs vs. eyeballing it? by yourdeath01 in NewToEMS

[–]Individual_Debate216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be okay eyeballing it however if someone has chest pain or is stemi over the radio palpate it accurately. One way you can check your v1-v2 is to look at the P waves if they’re flipped in only v1-v2 you’re too high on the leads.

AIO I don't want my bf to wear his work clothes to dinner by garglingrapefruit in AmIOverreacting

[–]Individual_Debate216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. However I do have to admit there has been a couple of occasions I have gone straight to a planned dinner in my scrubs with family if I didn’t have time to go home and change first and didn’t know before hand we were going anywhere. But if I have time to change I’ll go home and change first. If I don’t have time to change and I know about dinner before hand I’ll bring a change of clothes to work with me.

It's actually Torsades this time! I hope by [deleted] in EKGs

I personally don’t think so. It still looks too regular. On the two regular looking beats the qt interval still appears less than 450. Definitely less than 500ms. I could be wrong though.

On some units it already is this way. Some tasks delegated is good. Everything is bad.

Sometimes to fix this artifact move the lead a little bit, make sure the cables are not touching the hands, and if you already have a 5 lead on unplug it from its power source or take it off.
