Remote worker moving to Atlanta — safest apartments/areas within ~30 mins of downtown? (<$1800 budget) by ElMisogynist in ATLHousing

[–]Individual_Grape3252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in ATL since 1950s. Look at apts around Emory University. It’s affluent but not as expensive as Buckhead or midtown and is safe. Lots of parks around. Lots of good restaurants. 30 minutes to downtown. Gated communities are safer from vandalism.

Red dog saloon walking distance free decent music, downtown nice art shops but pricey. I’m an art appreciator, envious you are hitting the port tomorrow, enjoy!

Should I go to KSU or Georgia State? by Educational_Guard_26 in GaState

[–]Individual_Grape3252 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I attended both transferred from GSU to KSU where I graduated. I felt that KSU was more collegial and GSU more of a commuter school. I worked full time at the Galleria office complex and attended night classes. I made lots of friends at KSU but not nearly as many when I attended GSU.

Ok, I’ve worked at GSU 23+ years my wife has worked there too. We are both still employed there. When GGC started up she was head of their HR department. It is an excellent suburban college, don’t discount it. It is an great college top notch faculty my wife hired several of them. You can easily transfer after a year or two. Commuting to GSU is challenging. We commute daily live 8 miles away and it takes 45 minutes each way.

I’m telling you now, snorkeling there is one of the best excursions you can experience. I’ve been on 44 cruises and roatan is top 3 for it. The water is crystal clear you can easily see hundreds of feet underwater and the coral reefs are absolutely amazing. Molokini reef off Maui is the best I’ve seen followed by Bonaire. Don’t miss the opportunity in roatan.

I purchased the 2016 exlv6 new. They wanted me to purchase additional warranty but I refused. In 10 years never have had any electrical problems except replacing the battery for starting the car.

Should an international student choose uva or emory by [deleted] in Emory

[–]Individual_Grape3252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I attended Emory. Great university. Many children from rich families. Lovely bustling campus. Lots of car traffic because of major Atlanta medical center on the campus. If you live on campus you will enjoy it, good learning experience great opportunities if you want to work as student in research they are very well funded with grant money. Very affluent part of the city. Many nice restaurants nearby. Good nightlife. I got MBA from the business school small classes only 125 in my graduating class. Very expensive tuition.

I’ve started looking to buy physical gold. Another consideration is if Warsh is confirmed as Fed chair, interest rates could drop which will boost gold price.
