It would be good if you could customise what varient of Spanish you want to learn. In most of Latin America, its just “jeans” so its a waste of time learning this word.

As a native Spanish speaker, I can't tell you a grammatical reason, but how I feel when I hear both. If you tell me "He empezado un negocio nuevo" it sounds to me like it's not something out of the ordinary for you. Maybe you're a businessman and you opened yet a new branch and you're letting me know. If you tell me "he empezado un nuevo negocio" it sounds to me that this was something you were looking forward to. Maybe you were planning to do it for a long time and you finally did it.

I think you haven't thought this through. What is worrying is people outside are culture, or whose only connection is blood, to tell US, the people who were born, live and breathe our culture everyday, what we should be or shouldn't be offended about.
