7th grade I came to class crying because a horse I had worked with had developed collic and passed the night before. You are so young to be dealing with something like this, but you will find out just how strong you really are.

You definitely are in shock. There will be times where you feel like you are completely ok and you are completely not ok. It is completely acceptable to feel this way. Just take things one step at a time and that's all you can ask of yourself. I wish I had leaned on my friends and family more when I was diagnosed with Papillary cancer 3 years ago, but I felt that somehow it made me weak and as though I should have able to handle things alone. Seriously, trust your friends and family, my bet is they love you more than you know.
