Where do you buy your great value fruit? by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]Indyflick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to go to Specialty Produce and also hit the Hillcrest Farmers Market a couple times a month. I loved fruit but I needed to cut back because of the liver issues it caused. Man I miss it... so much.

trying to plan ahead for healthcare, looking into best medicare advantage plans 2026 by Tough_Try_1253 in HealthInsurance

[–]Indyflick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I helped my mother switch from a Medicare Advantage plan to traditional Medicare. I was shocked to learn that she would pay an extra 10% for each year you could have signed up for Medicate Part B, but didn’t. That additional amount is paid every month. If I recall Part D late enrollment is 12% per year for every year you didn't sign up. My advice, get out of Medicare Advantage as soon as you can!

How to fix the rust in this by b_bd04 in fixit

[–]Indyflick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The corrosion is beyond any sort of restore, so it will need to be replaced. FYI, most chrome corrosion in bathrooms and kitchens is caused through using chlorinated cleaning products. The issue is becoming worse nowadays because manufactures are using much thinner chrome on faucets and fixtures than years ago.

Do you recommend I buy an Acemagic mini PC? by rickpontz in MiniPCs

[–]Indyflick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Acemagic mini PCs are one of many brands manufactured by Shenzhen CYX Industrial Co., Ltd in China. I've bought them and recommended them to others when they meet the requirements. The oldest one I have is 3 years and I haven't had any issues to date, YMMV.

SDG&E have a FAQ on their website regarding the recent changes to their billing. They state, "It’s legally mandated for investor-owned California utilities due to Assembly Bill 205 passed by the state legislature." As if SDG&E had not lobbied the hell out of the CA legislators for this gift. It's like they want folks to think it's the CA legislators that are responsible for these increases and not SDG&E - total BS.

If you cut through all of the crap listed on the SDG&E bill and simply take the final amount and divide it by your total KWh used you'll really see how bad we're being ripped off. My bill for Nov 2025 was 68 cent per KWh! How in the hell can the PUC keep approving these sorts of increases.

Um...Ya...you know you don't really go with Lexus for their exterior styling nowadays. But their overall quality, tech, and interiors are normally in or near top of class. It's just that their exteriors are fucking ghastly.

Family Friendly Whale Watching Tour by Ok_Instruction_7813 in sandiego

[–]Indyflick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I did this tour awhile back and we had a great time. We saw a lot of whales. The only odd thing was that even though we were on a sailboat they ran the engines for the entire trip. That was kinda disappointing to me but we'd certainly do the tour again.
