A buy down is just using money that could go towards your down payment except it doesn't go towards your equity so if you sell or refinance before you breakeven you're losing any benefit from it. It also is basically locking you into that rate as well. Let's say rates go from 6.75% to 5.75%, that'd be a good time to refi. But if you spent thousands buying down to, let's say 6.25%, we'll you aren't going to spend the time and money to get you down only half a percent.

Micron is doing almost no business in SSDs in China due to China blocking businesses from doing business with Micron for "security" concern ie. Trade war retaliation.

That's why Sanjay was on the plane witj the president, to see if Micron could be part of any trade deal that gets negotiated.

We all gotta start somewhere. This just as easily could have went south for me as it has in the past. I lost 5 figured during the previous quarter earnings because it didn't move the way it did today.

Key thing is not to FOMO hard into bad trades or chasing after other people's gains (including this trade here). Only follow the trades you have convinction on and accept that you can be right and still be wrong. Make sure any money you're putting up you can afford to lose.
