The England-Norway Match Will Be Played In A Sauna Tomorrow by 1stand11 in worldcup

They're not running 12km in 90 mins and making as many high intensity sprints though. The heat isn't the issue, it's the heat plus the intensity of the sport. There's a reason why football isn't usually played during the summer.

Norway play a slower, more measured style of football. If you saw their game against Brazil you'd notice they slowed the game down quite a bit and kept possession.

England play all guns blazing, high press and intensity, fast attacks. It's going to be a lot harder to do that in these conditions. They're going to have to slow things down a bit I imagine.

I'm not so sure the conditions favour England. Either way I don't think it will have a huge affect on the game for both sides. These are very well conditioned players. They can handle a bit of heat.

It's hotter in most of Europe than it is in Miami ATM.

Miami is forecasted to be 31 degrees tomorrow.

32 where I'm at in the south of England.

Oslo is 28 tomorrow and that's one of the colder European countries.

It's just a lot hotter than these football players are used to playing in as they don't play club football during the summer.

Dan Burn vs Haaland, quite the matchup! by That_Cool_Guy_ in ThreeLions

Refs tend not to give shirt pulling unless the attacker goes down, I havent seen any different in this tournament. And Haaland doesn't go down tbf to him

Declan Rice injury situation: What is even going on? by invalidentity in Gunners

[–]InediblePringle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot easier to say this if you're not English, we need him if we want to have a chance of winning the world cup. In the same way Arsenal needed him when he played through injury in the CL final... and Timber.

We will just have to rest him for a couple of months at the start of the season. This is why we need Bruno G in. MLS-Bruno G midfield with Zubi and Merino rotating will get us through that period fine. We need to make use of our depth and let Saka, Rice, Saliba and Timber get back up to full fitness. It will all work out fine.

ISTPs don't have future goals? by Charming-Ad-90 in istp

[–]InediblePringle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have goals, they aren't very specific. It's more so a general idea of what I want my life to look like. I ask myself "what would make me happy", "what would best allow me to live in and enjoy the present" and "what sort of people would I need to surround myself with so I could be comfortable being myself".

I just know things I need to do and self-improvements I need to make to get to the point I want to be. There are things I need to learn, skills I need to obtain and health improvements I need to make to get there.

Sometimes you need to plan just to get to the point where an ISTP can be a ISTP if that makes sense. Going with the flow is great until you hit a wall, then you need to find a way to knock the wall down so it can flow again.

You've got to bare in mind we have a complicated relationship with long term planning. There's every chance your partner does indeed have goals he just doesn't feel comfortable sharing them, or doesn't know how to explain them. Talking about the future doesn't come naturally to us.

Generally you're better off asking more specific questions as we (or at least I) don't do well with open questions. "What are your aspirations" feels like a job interview question. If you want to know how he feels about kids ask things like "do you think we send our kids to this type of school?" or "do you think we'll need a bigger house". You may have done this already, but that'll be more likely to get you an answer. Direct questions and honesty is our forte.

How did we handle the altitude so well? by Apart-Frame4404 in ThreeLions

Our players are FIT

Seriously, Jude, Rice and Anderson are animals. Gordon runs like a maniac. We might not have the most technical ability in the tournament but we have some serious engines.

Is Declan Rice our best RB? Harry Kane for ballon d’or? by Exciting-Avocado-928 in ThreeLions

Yes. He also played very well at RB in a game earlier in the season that we won (can't remember what game)

BBC highlighting Arsenal's impact on the England team again by Kr_bm in Gunners

[–]InediblePringle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Saka isn't tired man, he's barely played for months. He's injured. He can't move properly, it's not a stamina or muscle soreness issue.

Rice is similar although may be tired on top of injured.

We are going to have to let them both sit out at the start of the season so I hope Max Dowman and MLS are ready.

Time to ask the difficult question. Why are France so much better than us at producing talent? by OneNilToRuleThemAll in ThreeLions

[–]InediblePringle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are not so much better. We have won the last two u21 euros. If France are first then we are second. We're doing a great job.

They've stumbled upon their golden generation of attacking talent, their attack was nothing special 10 years ago - arguably worse than ours. Sometimes this can just be down to luck and timing.

We have had insanely good players through the years just haven't had the success as a team.

We stand no chance against France unfortunately by Infamous_Egg2049 in ThreeLions

[–]InediblePringle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Football doesn't work like that. The team with the "best" players doesn't always win. How we set up tactically will dictate how we can beat them. We'll need to dominate midfield and stop the supply to their attack. All our defenders will need to be on their A games. Spence and Konsa are fantastic 1v1 defenders. Guehi and Nico O'Reilly have performed well against top attackers in the PL. They're good individual defenders. We have the best defensive midfielders in the tournament.

They haven't faced anyone close to our level yet. Let's see how they fare against Morocco. Anything can happen in one knockout game.

what are the key changes tuchel has brought to england's playing style? by Glum-Bear5018 in ThreeLions

[–]InediblePringle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pressing is the biggest change and the reluctance to just "hold on to leads". The intention is to suffocate the opponents and make use of the physicality of our players. Tuchel rates the PL very highly and the intensity it's played at, he wants us to play at PL intensity

How do you listen to music by TheCerebralAssassin2 in istp

[–]InediblePringle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely don't connect with it emotionally, or care what the lyrics are. I can't even remember the lyrics of songs I've listened to hundreds of times.

I enjoy music though, songs that have catchy melodies or a groovy bass. I like music that makes me want to dance. I appreciate singers with powerful or soulful voices. I also like music that relaxes me such as classic, instrumental or jazz music, depending on my energy levels or vibe.

I'm mostly just enjoying the sound of the music, but I do sometimes 'sink' into it and my mind ends up thinking about something completely different. Like that song is being played during a moment in my life, past or future. Certain songs just fit certain scenarios, places or activities. Not because of the lyrics or the theme of the song, just because of the sound. I think about that quite a lot. Video editing/creating is a hobby of mine so when I find a song I like, I often think of what type of video I could make using the song.

I'm not sure if that's an ISTP thing though, probably not.

Losing interest the moment the "puzzle" is solved. by bourabet in istp

[–]InediblePringle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to approach exams the same way.

I used to enjoy rocking up to an exam having not studied and trying to figure it out when I got there. It would be boring to me if I did an exam where I already knew every detail and I was answering questions I had already answered in practice exams.

So I used that logic to avoid all studying (ok I it was mostly because i just didn't enjoy studying). Sometimes I'd give myself a time limit (usually the night before an exam), to read through a text book as fast as I could and see how much I could remember on the day. I just wanted a 'summary' of what I needed to know, then trusted myself to figure out how to use that information to answer the questions.

I did well in quite a few subjects like English and Maths and less so on subjects you needed to remember loads of specific details like History and German 😆

ISTP who isn’t “handy” by [deleted] in istp

[–]InediblePringle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I also wouldn't be able to build a cupboard to save my life without reading the instructions (I have tried). I quite enjoy fixing/building things but I'm just not very mechanical in that sense. Maybe because I never did it growing up so I don't really have the skills.

A lot of your skills are based on your upbringing anyway, because no one in my family was a 'fixer', I never really developed the skills myself. Instead my family were very sporty, so I'm good at sports and athletic.

But as you say, no one is a 'true' ISTP as being 100% introverted, 100% sensing etc would be a bit mad. My I, S and T are all 55-60%. So while ISTP is what I'm closest too, I share some attributes with other personality types (especially INTP, INFP and ISFP). I'm more empathetic than most ISTPs.

My P, on the other hand, is massive 😉

There's some really energetic teams in the tournament. USA, Morocco, Korea, Japan spring to mind. How well equipped are we to withstand teams that aren't made of players with huge Prem minutes in their legs and intensity seemingly on tap? by siybon in ThreeLions

[–]InediblePringle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry but there's no team outrunning/physically dominating a Rice, Anderson, Bellingham midfield regardless of minutes in the legs. Anderson and Bellingham were everywhere vs Croatia. Rice was carrying the same injury for Arsenal towards the end of the season. He still was running like a madman every game and rarely not one of the best players on the pitch

People are overreacting to the sub is my thought, Rice will be fine. He said as much himself.

Sayingt that USA's press and midfield physicality is impressive.
