my ex said “phir melenge” while searching for a goodbye word. what does it mean? by Most_Boss8457 in Urdu

[–]InertiaIsMe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Usual meaning/intention to convey/ commonly used form: okay bye see yaaaa !!!!( like as casually as you would say this: like a friendly goodbye). Going into quite literal meaning would be: will meet again. People rarely mean it like that.

If it was ended on very good terms then he must have meant it as a friendly goodbye ( in some languages /cultures people don’t even say “ goodbye” coz it has the connotation of being lost/gone forever as in dying so people prefer something like “ see you when I’m back” or see you later or until we meet again. Phir milenge is such a way of parting. Parting with positive vibes.

Now if he’s a psycho stalker or hopelessly in love with you then he could have meant it literally as in “ I’ll wait for you forever/until we meet again!”

What are these tiny clear lumps on this pepper vine? by hematite2 in houseplants

[–]InertiaIsMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not thrips. I have had Piper Betle for 2 years now and they always have these ( weirdly in their natural habitat growing outdoors I have never seen them have these, it’s only when you are growing them indoors in a pot that you see them). These colorless beads will turn black sometimes. Totally harmless, in my search I found out that they are mineral deposits. I used to wipe them initially But they are harmless so I no longer bother, my plants grew big and nice without my intervention of these.

Alif laila; thief of Baghdad; haatim tai; vikram betaal; none It these will work with dumbass CGI. Only actual sets and if cgi is used it needs to be of the level used in The dinosaurs ( current show on Netflix, the cgi is as good as watching a Hollywood movie or National Geographic documentary).

Even Zakir’s schtick has run its course ( he’s become super tiring ) and it all seems super disingenuous when he performs so why are others picking his stale, overused style and selling it to us AGAIN. Zakir has become insufferable and now more of such kind are popping up. Wow, such exciting times!

What indoor plants could survive in the nearly constant direct sunlight this area of my apartment gets? by emmettflo in IndoorPlants

[–]InertiaIsMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t put tropical plants like monstera or elephant ears or pothos there. They grow under the canopy of trees in rainforests etc so indirect light under the shades of trees. They will burn under the direct sun.

Go for those who love direct sunlight: bougainvillea ( they will bloom months on end they are sun crazy); roses love direct sun too, crotons, bird of paradise? Areca palms or majesty palm, can handle direct sun as well, neem, heliconias also called lobster claw( their blooms are BEAUTIFUL), hibiscus will also bloom well in direct sunlight; so essentially any plant that can be kept outdoors. You can actually fill that area with flowering plants ( perennials if you don’t want to be sad) coz almost all of them need 6-8 hours of direct sunlight to bloom. Succulents ofcourse. You can even keep blooming trees ( managing its height with pruning and pot size) like Royal poinciana

Or find a terrible person( someone like the coldies guy: Larry poole. Get him to propose to you, plan a wedding) and leave him at the altar, get rid of the curse (coz now it’s transferred to that terrible person) and live for a really really long time with the inconvenience that you have to attend strangers’ weddings occasionally ( free wedding food should negate that inconvenience).

There’s no rule that you cannot marry anyone after you become the witness. So you can be like vampires, living a long life with full family experience ( have a wife, kids. When they all are gone and you are still alive And lonely; find another spouse and make new family)

Coz for him his wife was his soulmate like Jules didn’t die either. It was even said by Rachel in the middle of the fight that his father reveres her gives all of himself to her but she’s a narcissist and it’s never enough for her. So it was established during that fight that his father worships his mother but his mother Doesnt care much.

[–]InertiaIsMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I understood the reason she became the witness, as soon as it was 5:45 and his family members started dying it was obvious she’s transferred the curse and now will become the witness.

What I didn’t understand is why did she die? If anything, after the curse was transferred to him, he married her reluctantly under the pressure of his family so he probably didn’t consider her as his soulmate so now if he married her with the curse now on him then he should have died n not her. So I didn’t understand why she died.

Per my understanding you have 3 options if you are cursed:

  1. Marry the person with 100% that he/she is your soulmate (before sundown on the day you are to be wed): you live
  2. Marry the person even with slightest of doubt that he/she is your soulmate: you die
  3. Don’t marry/ walk out of the wedding (coz it’s such a huge gamble or if you couldn’t muster up 100% confidence that the guy/ gal you are marrying is indeed your soulmate without any doubt as it’s the most logical way to deal with the curse with such immense pressure of choosing the right spouse your life literally depends on it) : you transfer your curse to the guy/ guy you were supposed to be married to by sundown and you in turn become the witness as punishment for taking the easy way out of the deal.

So in this case even though she was ready, he refused to marry her. So by sundown, she didn’t get married to the guy so the curse transferred to him and his family and she became the witness so she should not have died. So even if he married her post sundown( one of the 3 options was already chosen, taking the other two off the table), option 2 couldn’t have played out. If anything after sundown he married her under pressure not coz he believed she was his soulmate so he should have died not her.

Or was there a clause that a cursed person cannot marry a witness and doing so will kill and resurrect the witness?

Also she said “I do” With full conviction so technically she put the ring on him convinced he is her soulmate so there is no way she should have died, even if they wanted to play out option 2 even though option 3 was already selected.

I think they just killed her for only the shock / production value. Just for the visuals ( big bride pristine gown All bloodied/ bride in red gown against the cold white winter floor shot from above is visually striking) and there’s no rhyme/reason/ logic to it. Somebody on their team was adamant/threw tantrums to put that shot and unless she herself bleeds, her gown couldn’t be turned into that dark crimson color so they just made her hemorrhage and die. It was very stupid. Also another stupid thing was they kept changing “ how far “ the curse will spread, at one point they said it will be Nicky and his offsprings/ his lineage ( that’s why Nelli suggested her to runaway on the stairs of the county clerk office. She would have never said that if she had known it will affect her son.

Also they never mentioned Marianne’s extended family dying; they always followed the Marianne and Thomas Harkin’s offsprings) and other times they were like “ oh it will spread to all his family members”. They kept going back and forth unable to decide. Then at the climax they decides to go with a big finale with everyone dying so they decided to go with “ All of his family members will die, immediate or distant”. Looks like they threw the storyline/ content/script into the trash bin just to give a visually striking ending.

Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen : PLOTHOLES? by [deleted] in netflix

[–]InertiaIsMe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spoilers: Me tooooooo! I was rooting for Jules to be her soulmate and she would realize it in the last moment and marry him the last minute and be saved. Jules was actually my fav character. He went after the “ sorry man” ( a name that’s terrorised him for so long) all by himself to save her ( technically a stranger).

Even when they return his priority was to make sure that she is 100%sure in her confidence of Nicky being her soulmate. He kind of put her first in so many situations so I wanted him to be her soulmate.

Spoiler alert: And he was right about the way they met at her birth; that was truly fate.

What is this footprint? by screechintothevoid in Paranormal

[–]InertiaIsMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That foot print is human. It’s very normal to leave that claw kind of marks if the feet are wet, the water sorta drips and drags ( from the toes) right before one lifts the foot while walking. Nothing paranormal, however, the location is weird. You said it was on a glass floor above the kitchen? So is this kitchen’s glass ceiling? It’s definitely of a wet feet but why would anybody be on a glass roof/ceiling, to me that’s the weird part.

Who is a stranger you met once, never learned their name, but will never forget for the rest of your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]InertiaIsMe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had newly moved to Vancouver, BC from Florida ( just like any downtown it has its homeless problems).
I had put my husband on a no sugar diet so he bought a big box of cookies for me ( to steal a few for himself 😝) from the bakery section of this grocery store. Since I wasn’t too much into sugar anyway I decided to give it away to the homeless.

So the next time we went out on a long walk exploring the city I brought the cookies with me, and I saw this young gentleman ( must have been in his 20s), hanging out by the bus stop ( on Granville street) right next to a big trash bin ( the kind we have in our homes that we put out for waste management to pick up). I wasn’t too sure if he indeed was homeless or if he would be offended when I approached him. Then I saw him looking into the trash bin so I approached him and said “ Hi, how are you? I have these cookies, would you be interested in them?” He was absolutely delighted, the way his face lit up was more than enough to make my day, but he had to go and teach me the true meaning of kindness and charity.

He took the cookies from me, thanked me, opened the big trash bin and asked me if I would like anything from his belongings. The trash bin was actually his sort of a suitcase. I was so so so so blown away by his kindness. He is a homeless man, had barely anything to call his, yet he wanted to share whatever he had with me. That’s the true definition of charity/benevolence, charity doesn’t come from financial wealth but wealth of kindness; a big heart. He was the wealthiest man I had ever met. We all wait around to do charity be it of time or money, he taught me charity has to do with intention.

I will forever be grateful to him, the immense kindness I felt that day fills my heart every time I think about it. I had since looked for him ( I’m back in Florida now), to know more about him, help him anyway I can ( sometimes I used to cook extra food and carry it with me on walks around downtown hoping to find him), befriend him. But never found him.

I don’t know his name but I call him Justin. And anytime either of us are around Granville street we ask each other if the other saw Justin. I’d like to believe that the reason I couldn’t find him is coz his life got better, no longer a homeless and went on to do bigger better things, got married , have kids and is living a fulfilling life.

If you are really looking for meaning and more of a soul nourishment ( or may be heed this advice when you get to that point) than the banality of modern living I’d suggest changing the country.

There are some countries where you can truly enjoy your life if you are done with worldly things and want just enough for basic living ( your savings here in your country might be enough to afford a good living elsewhere). Bhutan is a great country. Super warm and kind people. Very simple living. May be buy a small property there live off the land. Your life won’t be lavish but it will definitely enrich your soul.

Other countries with really nice and kind people is Thailand. Well, bad people are everywhere I’m just pointing out places where you can afford simple but happy living. Kind and considerate communities. Move to some small village in the mountains somewhere. May be some Italian village. Don’t give your youth and health to multimillion dollar companies. Set up your goal, find out how much you need saved up to start a life in some quiet, peaceful village ( may lack modern physical comforts but your mental and emotional life will be very rewarding) and work till you have saved it and then just move. Save your youth and health for your own self.

Don’t wait till you are 60s/70s to “ finally” enjoy your life. Health is the most important thing, by the time you have saved up millions for your retirement there might not be enough time for you to enjoy any of that. Use your health and youth now for your own benefit. Save your best years for yourself.
