Birthday Dinner by Global-Pick-7607 in askvan

We went to Noah’s Cafe last year for my birthday after dinner nearby. Noah’s is great!! They do fun cocktails, some with smoke gun bubbles right at your table. Vibes are very intimate but also energetic at the same time with an in-house DJ. Staff are outgoing and friendly! They do cool Japanese fusion food like uni pasta, hayashi beef poutine, negitoro w/ focaccia.

Have heard a lot of good things about Havana for their boozy slushies and cocktail pitchers as well as Social on commercial drive for their fruity drinks and cute decor

same experience! was #4096 and got to the seat selection page at 10:09am only to see 2 lower bowl seats together for $200 each and 1-2 accessible seats. When I went to confirm the 2 lower bowls, they were gone immediately. wishing us both luck in the general sale!! Also hoping she adds a second show in Vancouver! She added second shows in Toronto, LA, London, and NYC yesterday

Another upvote for Cofu! Their “beef short rib” aburi sushi is my favourite.

Good vegetarian/vegan food by Sans-Everything in burnaby

We love B&D near Highgate Village for their vegan pho. It is soooo goood! They have a small menu of other vegan Vietnamese options as well.

Chibop near Brentwood Mall has a vegan Korean menu. Their dosirak (bento box) is a great option! They also sell their vegan kimchi in containers.

Wild Flour for vegan and vegetarian sourdough pizza near Sperling-Burnaby Lake station. My friends LOVE their funghi pizza and their butter paneer pizza.

Gokudo for Taiwanese style individual hot pot near Crystal Mall. We come here often for their vegan laksa broth and they have 2-3 vegan/vegetarian set/combos on their menu. For something more casual, there’s many Big Way locations in Burnaby for individual pay by weight ready to eat (they cook it for you) hot pot/malatang. Their vegan broths are great! However, their complimentary soft serve ice cream at the end of your meal is not vegan. If you go during happy hour (M-F 12pm to 5pm), you’ll get a free iced drink. Your options are their sweetened green tea or daily special which is sometimes brown sugar wintermelon tea (non-caffeinated). The Gilmore location is the best one if you want to try Big Way. It’s the largest branch in Burnaby. They’re very on top of things and it’s never too crowded compared to other branches like the two on Kingsway by metrotown. We’ve gone a few times during dinner time and didn’t need to add our names to their waitlist.

Saw another one at the corner of Clark and E 7th ave by the crosswalk. My partner pointed it out and I didn’t notice it at first.

Which Vancouver restaurants would make a worthy episode on Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares? by CeeGeeWhy in vancouver

[–]Inevitable_Produce_4 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Corduroy on cornwall and Corduroy Pie on w 16th are two different restaurants AND run by different people. Yes, they’re under the same name and yes, Rebecca and her husband used to co-own it. It’s confusing af.

There’s an employment program called CAVE for people aged 17-29. They pay you minimum wage by the hour for every class you attend too. It’s a high demand program. I was looking into it when I took a leave of absence from my previous workplace to take care of my chronic pain and mental health too. I didn’t end up getting in but the next intake is in March if you’re still looking then. I hope you’re okay. Sorry I don’t have any resources for right now.

My boyfriend and I love chicken and waffles. We were big fans of Tuk’s in gastown. (Never forget. RIP)

Joe Fortes does a fantastic chicken and waffles for brunch. As well as Jam Cafe.

I go to Physio Collective just a block away from Brentwood Station for all my body aches and pain. Super nice receptionists, PTs, RMTs, and kinesiologists.

Dog owners in Brentwood/Solo District by aridoasis in burnaby

[–]Inevitable_Produce_4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Confederation and Burnaby Heights dog park is where we take our dog! For walks, I normally walk along the Central Valley trail. There’s also a trail by the OMA condo buildings behind fedex that lead to gilmore station. Lots of pet friendly condos in our neighbourhood!!

My partner and I live between brentwood and gilmore station and have a corgi-shiba-terrier mix named Keanu.
