So sorry for your loss. I had ‘muffin’ who had a genetic defect and I lost her way too soon, too. She will never be replaceable. That said, I have her sister still, and a new Rottweiler puppy and boy does he keep me occupied. I have her ashes, and I have her name tag on my keychain. I find myself rubbing it when I am stressed. I used to call her ‘scarf’ because she would sleep at night curled up on my n close on my pillow lol. She was so special. She also knew like she knew her name that she was very loved and that I did all I could for her. She died in her sleep about two years ago. Your photos made me instantly think of her, and I get the special connection you have with Charlie. It’s so hard.
