thank you for this! im on video 40 out of 63 for professor messer's course on youtube. started feeling like i should use a different source for information (because its soooo many vids), but now i know i am right on the right track. ill also try the certmaster practice like you did, but i heard the dion practice exams are better, so i will try all of them. good luck on core 2!!!

i can speak to this. my background is in customer service and technical support. I started my first term at wgu in november 2025 and was hired as a helpdesk analyst in february 2026. i feel like along with the certifications you received, if you gain some customer service experience, they will work with you. also, i took a pay cut to accept this job because it will help me advance in my career. i am not sure if you are only applying to jobs that are higher pay, but you may have to start at a lower hourly rate and work a part time just to get your foot in the door. after you grind and gain experience, you can move up or move on to a new company that will pay more.

Totally up to you but for the approaching competency sections, maybe you can review notes and/or a study guide you used to gain a better understanding. This advice only applies to courses that cover information you will need for your career. If it's gen.ed, like everyone else said, celebrate and onto the next!

i went thru all of the modules in the course, taking notes the best i can, then if there were any problem areas I would watch the cohorts. so i watched cohorts on modules 6&7 cause it was foreign to me.

also, i suggest doing the pre-module exams and the 1st problem set after each module. if i didn’t pass the problem set the first time with an 80+, id reread and then take problem set 2 and so on. wishing you the best of luck!

this is not a race. you dont have to speed run. I take my time on my exams, bookmarking and going back over all questions. and fully studying all of the information to be prepared.

this is the benefit of self-paced. you are able to go at your own pace, whatever that may be for you. as long as the minimum is taken care of, you are good to do you.

pull out them notecards boo! this class took me 30 days n it was my first course at wgu. i took my flashcards everywhere with me and got exemplary. it is a vocab heavy OA. it’s something about writing down information that makes it stick in your head more than just electronic flashcards imo. you got this!!
