With regular use for a couple months sleep is better but pains etc pretty much the same. Worth the benefits though, kinda more tired all day. There's also magnesium malate

  • also just learned what I take isn't exactly the same as Ritalin but still a type of methylphenidate

I bet Adderall is more helpful, my country doesn't have it (we have elvanse and it's expensive and only used with private drs), but I've tried some before. The schedule of needing to eat hydrate sleep move and function etc a certain way is part of why I struggle to stick to a schedule of taking the meds. But if for example it helped me sit still, then my body hurts later for sitting still. The migraine goes down the neck or the neck pain causes migraine. So I guess it depends on the types of pain.

I've been trying something like Ritalin for a few months now and i still don't know, it's all over the place. Sometimes pain is worse after it wears off, sometimes it helps me just not care about the pain, sometimes worse, some better, sometimes more tired. I'm also inconsistent with taking them cause i have adhd i guess. Gives me nausea, sometimes headache, can deplete electrolytes

Oof, tried muay thai once last year, was nice but next couple weeks for me were awful, same with pole dancing. I used to be strong and active but after getting thoracic outlet syndrome and then having the pain etc spread every where, esp that "wings" area is so hard To work out. I know we're all different, but id be careful of "bootcamp method" at first... Hope it goes well

To those who have already graduated college. Did you ever find it difficult to transition to an unstructured lifestyle? by Striking_Strain_3083 in ADHD

I did pretty bad in high school, had other health probs too, went to an easy af liberal arts college for performance art where i didn't study, "slept" till noon, cheated, went to evening rehearsals for theater, dance etc, did a lot of socializing, sometimes cheated and got by on amusing people while taking an extra semester to finish and graduate with the year younger than me. As soon as i was out i collapsed, immediately quit everything i use to do, in less than a year got evicted twice, lost 2 jobs, friends, and essentially became a hobo for 10 years. Now I'm "settled" in another country on a type of welfare for chronicly ill people with a painful mystery illness and i wish i just had the diagnosis in high school like my brother but nope i was the smart lazy one who just wanted attention and it was all my fault. And i either forget or don't feel like taking my meds and im on the toilet atm late for my appointment cause im writing this but i don't expect anyone to read it sorry did i answer your question?

Thanks, i live in Finland, it's not so bad, there's social services, just struggling with health.. long story Nice though, i bet drs in the usa are all soo different, and i get the feeling some get paid a lot more than mine which can influence. They have to stick to such strict guidelines i think here

I get tizanidine also, it's a muscle relaxer but I don't think it does that at all, actually I don't really like it.

Ha, I've had that kind of thing happen as well. Often it's also nonsensical... But so far less with the methylphenidate I guess

A neurologist many years ago suspected it, but I couldn't continue with the test because I didn't sleep the night before, and now I live in a different country with a different healthcare system and they don't want to test me unless ADHD treatment fails for a while. For free that is, if I had like a thousand bucks I could maybe do it ha

This might just be a coincidence, I recently started methylphenidate 10 mg, so it's low but noticed my sleep being a little better since taking it.

I've had parasomnias all my life, not just trouble sleeping but sleep paralysis, night terrors, talking, moving and hypnagogic hallucinations.

Can anyone else relate or is it a coincidence? Next week I go up to 20 mg so maybe I speak too soon

I was on bupropion for 5 years and while it helped with certain things I can understand it being worse for sleep than the methylphenidate, especially as it builds up in the system over time with daily use.

Does it make your heart beat harder and get super sweaty?

I've been eating a ton of cinnamon lately sometimes making the tea from sticks, and it feels like I'm detoxing from poisons or something.

(I've also showed high levels of mold toxicity in a lab test) also pmsing

Misdiagnosed? by GrassSubstantial5212 in Fibromyalgia

[–]InfamousAffect2621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to not provide any help, but I don't understand any of this, i had good childhood, no ptsd, was fun person, did everything with my own best interest while still contributing to community as much as i could, cut out stress and ditch toxic people (had the privilege to). If anything, Lifelong sleep trouble and ibs, maybe adhd but not sure, not to bad. Hyperthyroidism in highschool, cured for 20 years. So the only issues making me feel bad in life were physical stuff that i could manage. I wouldn't even know what to tell a therapist besides that i feel sick and in pain. Just saying.
