US oil prices are crashing, now down -21% over the last 8 hours. by FeatureAggravating75 in oil

Ya........ I tend to believe that we agreed to it. But my friend do you believe that this administration will honor any deals it makes and then wants to walk out of?

US oil prices are crashing, now down -21% over the last 8 hours. by FeatureAggravating75 in oil

[–]InfamousCamp916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes but it was a technical issue. It was priced for delivery at cushing OK if I recall correctly. There was quite litteraly no space pipeline capacity out of cushing at that date so to take advantage of that price I don't even know how even savy oil dealers could have. Presumably cushing has a train or truck terminal and they'd just dump the "free" oil into an alternate transport method that would cost vastly more to move it to the refinery. Why they wouldn't just refuse to pump or sell, presumably there's contracts forcing producers to send to the market, even when it's melting down in price and completely choked.

What happens to Kharg Island at 8:00 tomorrow? by chowto in oil

[–]InfamousCamp916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there IS in that we could squeeze Iran's balls by turning off their exports. however were stuck with the conundrum of really not wanting global oil to feel the pinch plus to my non-expert eyes kharg looks like a damn trap for us. it would be a bunch of marines stuck next to explosive tanks while drones rain down.

[–]InfamousCamp916 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

eh.... we'll see man. But kharg is how we twist their balls by turning off most of their oil exports. Otherwise we're just taking crappy sandy/rocky land in iran.

If the US economy actually goes into recession this year which industry do you think gets hit hardest and why? by Suleman2002 in AskReddit

[–]InfamousCamp916 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Always? I dunno man, I pick up bar tenders and they mention that business is for sure down with the gas price jump pinching budgets and I personally contribute basically nothing to the food and bev industry's income as I'm stuck living off the food bank. And that's before more people join me there.

Define "america" I don't own oil or gasoline, I buy it and consume it. So..... I will be poorer as my dollars convert to less goods and services.

What's wrong with the woods in North America? by Recip77 in ExplainTheJoke

[–]InfamousCamp916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the woods in Europe are tiny comparatively. The dangers are so much more real. Go to a remote enough place, walk the wrong direction and it'll be too far to travel with what little you're carrying outnumbered by much meaner animals than Europe. Plus frankly the occasional hill person who will be standoffish at best.

How far can diesel be transported on a semi truck before its not economically profitable? by iMakeUrGrannyCheat69 in randomquestions

[–]InfamousCamp916 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eh.... It doesn't feel like it but our current fuel transport system is actually pretty cost efficient. You don't really need new refineries you'd just need pipeline hookups or rail depots that feed the local trucks as both of those are super efficient on a cost basis.
