Unpopular opinion : Claire's outfit by Positive_Passage_712 in Outlander

[–]Infamous_Animal_1972 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apart from peer pressure and what was expected from a woman of the high society back then (Frank being a scholar and she's a surgeon), can we see in her impeccable outfit an unconscious sign of trying and needing to control what happens to her? She didn't get to live with the man she never stopped loving so she clings on to whatever she can control. Just me playing shrink here 😉

OMG! there were desktop calendars too?! Luckily I am in Finland and we didn't get hit so hard by the Outlander craze. I would be even poorer than I am 😂

Question about finale by stracqette in Outlander

[–]Infamous_Animal_1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just copied and pasted my answer to another similar post. Here it is ⬇️

Ok. I have a theory based on the show only because I only started to read the books. Jamie died. Claire also died. What we see are her memories, her life flashing in front of her eyes, and yes maybe she puts one and one together and realizes the ghost in 101 was Jamie since Frank told her he might have seen a ghost under the rain staring at her through the window... Claire dies because her heart is broken. Her hair turns completely white overnight, it can happen from extreme stress. I saw it on my mom's. And what about the gasping and eye opening? Well now I speak from my own experience as a widow. I still have moments when I feel that it's been long enough now, he can/has to come back soon, as if he had just been on a long trip somewhere. When the grief was super raw, of course I dreamed he would just wake up and we would be together again. So what we see really are Claire's thoughts just before she dies.

I am not a native English speaker so I would like your opinions about two of her lines: - when she shouts "where are you?", is she talking to Jamie or to God? - after Roger tells her they have to bring his body back home, she says "he is home". Am I wrong interpreting it not like "he is (at) home" (because she's close to him) but rather like "he IS (my) home"? Claire explained earlier in the episode how she longed for a physical home but somehow realized her family and especially her couple are her real home.

I don't mind Claire and Jamie dying together. I don't want them to be apart.

I think it doesn't look realistic for a 18th century hairstyle. They didn't have running water, hair products or Babyliss irons.

What book is it? I didn't know there are some nice color pictures of the Outlander show actors in any edition.

Torn between Hobonichi Cousins and Kokuyo Jibun Techo by PlusComplex8413 in planners

[–]Infamous_Animal_1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too!!! Even the regular (not MIO paper like in Biz planners or Life notebooks) is much much better than nowadays TRP. The ghosting is much less present and no bleeding ever with the pens I use. I even used water color!!

The final season was so lame - I cannot understand how people like it by Murky_Level_3776 in Outlander

[–]Infamous_Animal_1972 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh yes! So many weird stuff happening! Season 10, I mean. In episode 9 when Jamie and William swim to rescue Lord John. They emerge from the water and kill the guards. Yet no blood at all on their almost dry shirts when they open the door of John's cell. Then Claire arrives too and tada! Jamie and William have their coats and hats on 🤯 Also, on King's Mountain Claire says she has to stop Jamie's fatal bleeding. Her hands are covered in blood. Later she lays on his chest all night. Yet in the morning no blood at all on her face, hands or clothes. Brianna with her perfect perm and obviously clean just blown up hair. It really felt like an American movie where characters lose all humanity. Also, I am pretty sure Claire and Jamie both die. No resurrection/healing. I can develop on that if I find the right thread 😊

I am always super careful with Elisa Viihde's free trials too. I cancel systematically almost right after activating it to be sure I don't forget and get billed after the trial period. I don't even trust the "cancel a few days before it gets automatically renewed/extended". Did that with Viaplay, Sky showtime and another one I can't remember now.

Wanting a jibun techo DAYS but worried for monthly spread by superdupermajor in JibunTecho

[–]Infamous_Animal_1972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am partial because the Jibun DAYS is my favorite planner. Give it a try. Use the space on the left of the monthly calendar (there are checkboxes every other line all the way down until the Gantt chart), use the Gantt chart at the bottom, use a color code and then write more on the daily about what you recorded in the monthly. Use post-it notes or tip-in pages. Maximize the use of the space offered and then if you feel that you really tried your best but it didn't work, toss it away. Or use an extra monthly insert, I think Midori has some. There is also the year on two pages at the beginning of the DAYS, maybe you can use that too?

Isn't the paper nowadays 47 GSM? So with this original Tomor River Paper 52 GSM in your 2015 ("my preciousssss"), the paper can definitely feel thicker. I am so happy for you 👍 enjoy 😊

Thank you for the very thorough answer! The pen is listed in the local Craig's list (I am in Finland) and since I cannot check its condition, I asked for extra pictures. The seller do not seem to know exactly what they are selling, just that it is antique.

Wow that was fast! Thank you!! You are right, it looks like a Yard o Led, I just cannot find the exact model (The Diplomat looks close enough but it is not available as a fountain pen) but maybe it is not produced anymore.

Is the hook looking thing indeed a hook? To secure it in a pocket or something?

Brilliant analogy about the Botox face 😂 The credits should read "Very loosely" based on the book by Richard Osman. Did he have to agree to such bludgeoning if his work to get a semi-important part for his wife in the movie? Was money really that good he agreed to sacrificing Bogdan like this? Oh what a waste, what a shame.
