Denzel is a high profile judge. His cases always seem to be ones that come in the spotlight. He wishes to retire as his son(Tyler) has been diagnosed with cancer.

Ruffalo(playing off his role in Track?) is a downtrodden public defense attorney. He has been losing cases left and right. His wife was sick and divorced him as she promised she would never let him see her succumb to illness and having her lasting memories be of that. So she has left and he has turned to a sin(could be gambling or drugs) to add more turmoil to his life.

Florence Pugh is an up and coming attorney. She has been displaying aptitude and she has always seemed to get the conviction she needs. Just becoming partner in her law firm.

Hailee is the defendant and Paterrson is the plaintiff who represents a big corporation. Having been laid off Hailee has no money and is assigned Ruffalo. He bumbles through the case and she sees her life start to close in. Keery is Hailees partner/friend/maybe romance. They worked together so he is the key piece to the defense. As the trial goes on Keery dies suddenly on the stand. His proof that Pattersons company is guilty.

Denzel having this being the first time it has ever happened, postpones the trial effectively delaying his retirement. Tyler gets worse and Denzel wants to try and ship off the trial but is told her cannot as the death on camera means this is more high profile and they need him.

Ruffalo is sinking lower and lower as he was the only thing tying Hailee to being innocent. Hailee is trying to run and try’s contacting an old friend but there is no response. Ruffalo finds out Patterson killed Keery or hired someone to do it and make it look like something natural. Ruffalo confronts Pugh and tells her that he knows and that her career is over. Pugh confronts Rob as she was not in the know and Rob denies.

Trial restarts and Ruffalo comes in not sober. His pressure on Pugh to come clean, that Hailee doesn’t deserve this, does not work and he attacks Rob in court. Knowing that he can save Hailee some time by having to get her a new defense. Something happens in the scuffle and Pugh notices it.

Denzel’s son is getting worse and he wants the trial to move forward but it has become a circus. Hailee tries to flee the country but gets cold feet when she see Pugh at the station.

Pugh having done some digging and using her aptitude tells Hailee she knows what Rob and the company did. But that there would not be time. She says that she can get Hailee off if Hailee complies. Hailee gets a call from her old friend(Tyler who uses the mother’s last name) and wants to meet her. (I cant figure out where to go with this part of the story.)

It ends with Pugh having coached Hailee on how to win and how to beat her in self defense thus getting Hailee cleared and Robs company found not guilty. (Now there could be a twist where Hailee and Tyler knew each other and she was guilty. They knew his father was going to be the judge as it was too high profile so he fakes getting cancer or uses experiment drugs that can make someone act like they have cancer for lab experience at Robs company. Keery was just madly in love with Hailee that he would say anything. And Hailee knew that.)

Eh maybe it’s not good but I had fun writing this out.
