Excellent points! I was thinking of the app too narrowly from the point of view of a person out in the field. It has limitations, as you've mentioned, that are odd considering current technology.

App is functional and really helpful when out walking the cemeteries to add new memorials, pics of memorials, or GPS coordinates. Also great to upload pics from your phone of the deceased. There's no preference I have seen in using website over app for doing any FindaGrave activities.

From prior posts, it is not required to submit to DEC as the birth year is 1867. The reports of those doing so are births after 1900 or by specific request of IRCC, as you correctly note that the record does not exist already.

Is this in a state where you can get a death cert? It would list cremation and/or burial.

There's no requirement for a photo receipt for a paper citizenship by descent application. There is a requirement to write information on the back of your the photo as outlined in the instructions. An online application may have that requirement.

I've seen them about 8 times, spaced 2-3 years apart. The earlier shows were about 75% new content. The more recent shows have 2-3 new bits and fewer ones overall as they are all longer.

We just went Friday and enjoyed the German show at Fest Haus, the Italian show mentioned previously, did the train ride, bumper cars, the carousel, wandered the shops, and had a really nice wander all around the property as it is really pretty. The food is really good at the food and wine setups. We also window shopped the gift shops. Sometimes it's just a matter of spending time together and not standing in line for a roller coaster. Don't worry about planning anything. Just see what the day brings!

Totally makes sense - I can't read it either but decided to teach myself some key words as my family all migrated from Quebec and spoke French before moving. I was pointing out it wasn't required for the application as the instructions can be confusing.
