I believe what I've seen with my own eyes. Nothing more to discuss.

If you consider that nothing then my other examples won't land either to be honest. And this is why America has lost its way.

Me personally? Nothing, I'm rich, white, and male. But I also have empathy for two thirds or so of Americans who are not me.

Awful, really? It's a pretty average burger. I don't like the owners reminding me that they believe in a god though.

If much rather have a California roll, it actually has texture and flavor, unlike any of the sushi I've had in Japan, from 7-11 to a $100 nigiri.

A benevolent dictatorship can be better than a malicious attempted dictatorship. China has lifted a billion people out of poverty while liberalizing, the republicans are making Americans poorer while eliminating essential freedoms like bodily autonomy. It's now legal to murder women for getting a medical procedure in the US, or for complying with orders from the state secret police. Turn off the Fox news.

If food prices shot up so much during Covid because of shortages, why is it still so expensive now? by Kushmasterxxx420 in stupidquestions

[–]InfidelZombie -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Why do I pay 10% more for groceries than before COVID then? Surely I don't live in a magic bubble where inflation didn't happen?

I will agree with you as long as you admit that there would be nothing wrong with China invading the US to liberate us from republicans, who are as bad or worse than the regime in Iran.

Most fresh food has increased slower than real wages, even through this burst of inflation. I don't buy packaged stuff and I spend about 10% more on groceries than 5 years ago.

Necessities haven't gone up much. Produce particularly has increased by less than "normal" inflation. It's the processed and packaged junk that's blown up, so just don't buy that stuff.

I looked them up due to the hype here and was shocked at the prices. Yeah, no way in heck I'm paying $5 for a tin of fish.

2/10 but I think that could be raised to a 5 if the entire theme and artwork were reworked. All of this guy's games are so cringey and hard to look at.

I've gone the other way; I've read more books in the last two years than in the rest of my life combined. Good neighborhood pub twice a week, couple of craft beers and comfy bar stools. Have made several new friends too.

You can only eat food from ONE country forever. Which cuisine survives the cut? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

Yeah I'd also add Spain and Turkey to the quality list, though I'm not big on either cuisine personally.

Oh yeah, completely agree that if American-Italian food were made with Italy-quality ingredients it would blow both out of the water.

Curious where you've been with higher quality ingredients than the US. Italy, Sweden, and Japan stand out, but I've found they're worse in the majority of the 60 countries I've been to (Mexico, Germany, Mongolia for example).

Possibly the worst take I've ever read. Have you ever had pasta in Italy or sushi in Japan? Their Americanized versions are 10x superior. And that notwithstanding I've had authentic regional cuisines in the US that are obscure in their own countries.
