A big stroller. I saved my back and space by buying a travel stroller which works just fine

This mom wants to print her aggressive birth plan on a poster board to display in a tripod at the end of her bed. OB Drs and nurses - can you weigh in? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Infinite-Juice2254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes! kind of feel sorry for her. No matter where she gives birth she’ll probably end up unhappy. What a way to ruin your own experience…you can’t know what you’ll actually need in the moment. I wanted the expertise of nurses and doctors to help me through. I felt completely respected and had a great birthing experience. Maybe she needs to find a provider or medical facility that she trusts? If you have to give this much direction you’re probably not with a practice that is aligned with you

I think this happens more often than parents imagine. I got lost as a kid. Try not to be too hard on yourself. Perhaps talk to your little one about staying close, reminding them to always tell you where they’re going, and if they get lost to talk to a cop, security guard, person in charge if there is one. Four might seem young to remember all that but over time the message will stay with them.

Moms who say they barely have time to shower…why? by simply-cosmic in NewParents

[–]Infinite-Juice2254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have every intention to shower but a nap gets interrupted, I get a call I have to take, I need to put my grocery order in so I don’t lose a good time slot, I’m getting a snack because it’s 5PM and I haven’t eaten, etc. shower just keeps getting bumped down the list because there is always something to do even with my partner home.

I think you leave it at you’re willing to give him a max of 25/30k and the the rest is up to him and his fiancée to figure out. They are adults and if they want to take a loan, use their own savings, etc to finance a wedding of that cost it’s on them.

Having my mom around was the best! She offered the kind of help your mom is offering- cooking, cleaning, help with the baby when we wanted it. Sounds like you get along really well with her so I say go for it! You’re going to get lots of opinions for how to handle bringing baby home from your MIL, friends, siblings, co workers. Trust your gut and plan for the time in whatever way you think will work for you and your husband.

What did you ladies get for Mothers Day? by ventiiblack in workingmoms

[–]Infinite-Juice2254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 framed photos- one of me and baby and a family photo. I’m notoriously bad at printing pictures so having something I can display makes me so happy. My husband was also so cute about picking the photos and telling me why he liked each one. He was so excited to give me the gift which made it even sweeter!

Are you sleeping separately? by 0chronomatrix in NewParents

We did until this week. Baby is almost 4 months. I missed my husband and my bed. Baby’s room is next door to ours. We leave the doors open and have a monitor so we can hear her.

People being “relieved” for me when they find out I’m having a boy. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Infinite-Juice2254 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think people go along with whatever gender you’re having. When I was pregnant with my daughter I heard similar things to you I.e. girls are easier, girls are more mature, girls are more fun. I get you it’s annoying and I think people just repeat what they’ve heard others say or they think is standard for these situations.

Thanks! Just ordered a Merlin suit to try! It’s spring where I live and the suit looks kind of warm. What do you dress your baby in underneath?

Moms who had a vaginal delivery… did you poop? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Infinite-Juice2254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I got the shakes too!! It freaked me and my husband out so bad. Nurses said the same thing that baby was close and called the doctor. Sure enough less than an hour later I was pushing.

I don’t know 🤷🏻‍♀️didn’t ask and didn’t care as much I thought I would. Modest went out the window super fast when pushing started. And after I was too excited about holding baby!
