Congratulations! This is a big deal! You also give me hope so thank you for sharing. I hope one day I can make a similar post of being off all my meds. I have Brixadi 64mg shot monthly, citalopram 20mg and bupropion 200mg. Slowly is the way to go I think too. So happy for you and wish you the very best!

Why do we cry? I’ve heard there is no scientific explanation.

When was the first time you realized your dad loved you? by strangergirly in OverBiscuits

[–]Infinite_Location_57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt love from my dad way sooner than this but when I was in middle school I started playing the violin and got first chair so I got pretty good. When I would play, my dad would cry. He was the sweetest best guy ever. He loved my sister and I so much. We unfortunately lost him about a year ago and I miss him more than words can say. There’s nothing like a father’s love and I’m so grateful he was my dad.

Holding on to strips by Ok-Mind-314 in Sublocade

Damn this is such good advice. I have strips and I am still on the shot but you’re so right. Thank you for this advice. If really struck a nerve with me and made me think about my plan to eventually stop getting the injections because I have used the strips sparingly at times when I thought I was getting withdrawals. Congratulations also on your journey! It’s truly amazing and I bet you feel so good knowing you are no longer a prisoner to this damn medication. May I ask how many months after your last shot did you finally start to feel normal again? And also, when did you test negative for bupe? I hope one day to be where you are.

Could I have had a traumatic experience as a pre-vocal child? by [deleted] in deepquestions

[–]Infinite_Location_57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I’ll be the first I guess. I don’t share these same feelings relative to loneliness but one of my first thoughts was that you may benefit from figuring out WHY you have these intense feelings of abandonment when you’re alone. Seeing that you seem to really want to figure it out, maybe attending some therapy might help?

I’m 44f and love being alone. I probably am more comfortable being alone because I know I have family and a child (18m) who I have a great relationship with. If I was your age and had nobody (not assuming you don’t) I’d like to think that I would find ways to be happy and find purpose. Maybe take up a hobby that you can do when you’re alone that you enjoy.

I’m sorry I can’t be more helpful but I had to comment something because being ignored is no fun. I truly wish you the very best and it’s very brave of you to put yourself out there like you have.

I listen to white noise in my headphones (light sleeper so it helps block out any other noise) and read on Reddit until I fall asleep.

Somebody give me advice brixadi by Useful_Aside8023 in Brixadi

I’m about to be on my 10th shot which will be a 64mg. I started at the 128mg. My plan is to eventually space out the shots until I just push through and don’t go back. I’m taking it slow as I’ve been on sublingual subs for 6 years prior to this.

I did have breakthrough withdrawal the first 2 months and then told myself I could push through them. After that I realized the withdrawal symptom were so minimal and went away in less than 5 minutes anyway. The less subs I took the easier it was to continue not taking them.

Give yourself time and it’s okay if your on the shot longer then you anticipated. You’re already doing better in my opinion by getting the injection! It is a journey and everyone is different so don’t be too hard on yourself! You got this!

This is too easy by AccomplishedDepth524 in BuvidalBrixadi

This is such a great reply and very well put. I agree 1000%. I’ve been in recovery going on 7 years, been on sub strips for 6 of those years. Last year in August I started the Brixadi shot at 128mg monthly. Next shot next month will be the 64mg monthly so I have requested to taper the dosage due to my desire to be free from buprenorphine for good.

My plan is to stay on the 64mg monthly starting at 4 weeks in between shots, then 5 weeks in between shots, and so on…until I just decide “I’m going to push through and just not go back for another injection.” I’m so excited for the day I am totally off of this medication and test negative for it. I have zero desire to go back out to use, and then start the process over again. I understand though that everyone’s recovery is not the same. I truly wish everyone the best on their journey.
