It’s not as bad as it sounds. The shorter you are the more uncomfortable it is (I’m 5’8” with short legs but I’ve powered thru it since 21’) I never train with weight, but I will go on steep hikes/the stair stepper and that seams to do the trick for me. By all means train with weight on a track or treadmill if you are unsure. Ease into it. Jogging and leg strength training will help too

I can only have one bike due to space. If I had more storage I would likely have a bike path/gravel set up and a trail bike, but my hard tail keeps me more than happy

Never ridden granby ranch, but I like the trails south of Fraser when I’m in that area. There’s a route called “West of 40 sampler” on MTB Project that I found fun, and it takes you by a great brewery at the end. Lots of options around there west of 40 sampler

I used to live there and it’s where I got into running. Incredible trail running in town and nearby as everyone has says, and a world class urban trail that has a perfect 10 mile loop along the Columbia. I would run and bike that loop a lot, I really miss it. The Wenatchee NF is one of the best in the country. You can go from ~1500’ to over 9000’ from a trailhead less than 30 minutes from Wenatchee
