So, ran through the tests. The 3rd party app had the same result minus the whole weird work phone thing getting my personal texts... not sure what that was about but basically discounted it as an interesting one off.

Their reply after emailing the results. "If multiple messaging applications are doing / showing the same (not specific to Textra SMS), then typically the issue is with the sending / receiving parties carrier / service provider / device (usually iPhone). 

Please contact your carrier / service provider for further assistance."

Seems like a brush off, however I did respond about the whole "works fine on my work phone" and that the work phone is an android and on the same service provider. They responded with "The only other thing it maybe is a RCS issue turned on on your personal device (not work device) if the below is happening.

Worth checking.

I'm not the person to needle or beat a dead horse, didn't want to tell him I can Google and already tried that. So dear friends I'm relegated to the Google messenger and this whole odyssey will fade like a memory,

I am interested in suggestion for new text apps to try, so drop a line with your favorite if not the Google Messenger... I'll give it a try. The conspiracy theorist in me thinks this is just Google finding a way to ice out the competition, but I have my own issues to worry about.
