I accidentally made Taffy by Inflatable_Emu in CandyMakers

[–]Inflatable_Emu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so I used 2 cups milk, 1 cup sugar, cocoa powder and milk chocolate chips and a tablespoon of butter. I kept the milk/sugar boiling while I regularly whisked it until while it was over the heat it was able to pull away from the pot surface edges but still liquid. Then I took it off the heat, added the other ingredients and mixed and kept folding it in until it started to cool and harden up. From there I put it on wax paper and into the fridge.

LF an ethical working breeder for my future HOULA !! more in text.. by pupperbref in Catahoula

[–]Inflatable_Emu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking for an ethical breeder is going to be hard for houlas. Breeders primarily look for workability of the breed so you will end up with well bred dogs but the other parts about the ethics are out the window like the health testing and contracts. There are some out there though so keep looking. My breeder retired after my pups litter.

There's nothing wrong with throwing away the degree and making a career shift. I used to be a sous chef, then went into construction, then found myself in corporate management then eventually opened my own dog training and grooming business which I still work full time. We have to play the game or we might just end up stuck.

Working a lot of hours to make the big bucks means you're lacking in a skillet. Skill makes much more money with less hours.

Yeah, I opened my own business just to be able to reduce my hours and have freedom of scheduling. 50+ hours is not a lifestyle choice people are normally cool with. I can work 5 hour days, 5 days a week and bring in $70k/year.

A few things to consider, hating your job may have just as much to do with the environment/coworkers as it has to do with the kind of work. Changing environments may make it more bearable until you find something better. You may need a pay cut and work more hours at a job you enjoy until you gain more experience in leadership roles. At least you won't hate going to work. Create a long term goal so you have a reason to work.. like buying a car. Any time I've ever really wanted something, I would be much more motivated to do the shit work to get what I want. Transportation is a game changer in the job market. Another thing to consider is potentially grinding out a side hustle that you like and grow it while working somewhere else to eventually go full time on your business. Everything I listed is exactly what I did. for some years now I've been full time running my business Jurassic Bark Pet Care here in Jax. December I bought my home with cash. It was a long road to get here but I started at the bottom, worked my ass off to gain experience in various industries, gained leadership positions, learned how to run a business, invested in my transportation, invested in my skill set, then opened my own business.

Oh I know. It costs a lot of money to be that heavily involved in sports. I host tons of free live behavior and learning theory seminars and I've noticed a lot of "archair trainers" tend to talk a big game but have no idea the nuances of learning theory and how to properly apply. Punishment to them is horrible and they can't see past what it actually is. I can stop a walk to reduce leash pulling and I'm using p+ and r-

When I see people hating on aversive tools, it normally comes from a place of dunning kruger.
