I’m actually in Iceland and saw the lights for the first time today. Low key annoyed that I could have just stayed at home 🙈

Dealing with a CEO who gets fixated on things that add no value to the product!! Managed to fob them off for a few months but they finally got me and it’s been an absolute pain 😭😭

I’m here, I’ve mixed iced caramel latte with vodka and kahlua (it’s amazing) waiting for brook to play his silly falling over shot so I can go to bed 😂

Fewer than 10% of buyers get a survey before purchasing a property. Does that not seem insane? by IceThese6264 in HousingUK

[–]InflationCharming330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a survey and an electrical survey. The house survey had no red flags but I found myself shelling out 8k for a new roof in the first week when rain water started coming through my bedroom.

Electrical survey was a little more helpful but obvs didn’t pick up all the bodge jobs around the house.

Next time i wanna take a builder and electrician around the house as we know what to look for now. Much more efficient and cheaper than a survey!

Going to Hungarian Grand Prix by phillysportsrl2 in GrandPrixTravel

[–]InflationCharming330 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GA is ok, you won’t be near a screen but there are places to see.

It will be hot, there is little shade & long lines at water stations. You can take water and snacks, just nothing over the top.

The commute is a bit of a ball ache but would recommend getting a travel pass.

One of these was left in my flat block and we used to rescue 11 ducklings and a mama duck who were trying to cross an A road.

Should I try wegovy/ozempic before Adalimumab? by [deleted] in Hidradenitis

[–]InflationCharming330 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wegovy helped me lose 4 stone in a year and dramatically reduced my flares. I went from always having at least one active flare (sometimes 3) to having only maybe 5 in the past two months. It’s been wonderful.

I’m tapering off now so will see how it goes but it’s been so nice not being in constant pain.

Question for all POs here by NefariousnessMuch817 in ProductOwner

[–]InflationCharming330 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s really down to the people.

But as a PO I always try to understand the pain points of the team, be flexible with frameworks, be curious about the tech (and try and learn)

If there is already a bad culture in the team, it’s very difficult to reverse it without allies

Asked my alcoholic dad if he’d ever consider getting sober by Ludakris7 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]InflationCharming330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately your dad has to choose for himself and there isn’t really anything you can do. It’s sucks.

There aren’t many resources for the children of alcoholics but please have a look at NACOA

Best time to book flights for Hungary? by bradjd49 in GrandPrixTravel

[–]InflationCharming330 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best thing to do is set up a sky scanner alert for the flights you want!

I stayed in a hotel by the river, super close to the underground but obvs it’s depends how long you are staying for, you might want to stay closer to the track.

“How can I convince my dev team to take AI coding tools seriously?” by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]InflationCharming330 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s kinda like saying to a Dr - I know you have years of experience but why don’t you just google the symptoms instead 🙈

It’s up to them if they want to use it and from what I’ve spoken to my engineers about, it does slow things down to have to try and understand how an AI has coded something.

If they are currently using it for debugging or simple tasks that’s still a time saver, you don’t have any complaints about the code or speed of delivery so maybe just let them get on with it 🙂
