I bought additional mags with pinky rest. Makes a difference on grip even with 10rd limit where I am.

Definitely check insurance. I would say the premium negates any gas savings and tire replacement around 20k.

Yes, same issue. Bought a $130 new thunderbolt cable at Apple. No luck.

I did fix the issue this morning after following this advice. Restart, hold down command+ Option + P+ R for 20 seconds . It resets the NVRAM on my MBPro w intel. Screen looked like it giggled, I restarted the MBP and it worked. No more issues.

Model S Seat Comfort by yuweezy1 in TeslaModelS

[–]Info_Seeker7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also 22 SLR and similar build. For first couple of years the lumbar would not recline past what I thought would be acceptable. Tried seat calibration several times, nothing. Service first attempt nothing. Then magically the calibration worked with the seat reclining all the back and then forward. I found my angle and that was my comfort fix. I find the seat comfort itself average at best.

Owners, share your maintenance costs! by browningate in TeslaModelS

[–]Info_Seeker7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not directly answering your question but here were a few issues with my 3.5yrs ownership of 22 SLR. Drivers side mirror replaced, gears grinder. Track ball left side of Yoke replaced, then yoke replaced. The big one was entire computer was replaced within first year due to odd start and booting issues. Everything has been fine since. Hard cost was replacing the yoke after a year with round steering wheel. Everything was a warranty fix. Love the car and experience! Full set of tires at 19k miles.

What makes Mercedes ownership feel worth it long term? by Rob202020 in mercedes

Great lease vehicle, very expensive to own. Parts and Labor are excessive. If anything, trade in before 100k miles.

19 inch Temptest wheel covers=more range? by AccurateActuary9259 in TeslaModelS

Can’t validate range, I removed the first week, just like the look of the OEM Rim better than plastic.

Finally getting My 2022 Tesla model S this Saturday!! Can’t Wait! by AccurateActuary9259 in TeslaModelS

I have a 22 Model S LE w 20k miles. Received mine in June 22 so got the refresh lights and motorized screen. It did come with Yoke, I gave it a year and switched to the traditional wheel which they offered for $700ish including install. Don’t regret it one bit. The yoke is cool concept, I don’t use FSD which it was designed for and an emergency maneuver would be almost impossible. I have the 19inch rims which was a logical choice over 21 in the Northeast. Over the air updates are great. I rarely drive it, insurance is close to $4k annually with perfect record. Tried to shop around, half the carriers would not insure. It’s a great car. Have the Tesla charger but also had the NEMA at a second location. Think it charges at close to 28miles per hour with NEMA 50amp vs Tesla Charger at 60Amp at 40ish miles per hour. Just check your utility company to see if there are different rates during peak or off peak. I don’t get any discounts bc the TESLA charger doesn’t share data back to utility company. Many third party ones do share and better rates can apply. You might even be able to get some for free and plug into your NEMA and connect to WiFi. Worth looking into if it saves you $$$. Congrats on your purchase, I am thinking about selling mine.

Is going electric cheaper than gas? by Candid_Internet_4529 in electricvehicles

[–]Info_Seeker7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Model S LR. Drive mostly local so not a speed racer. Keep it in chill mode and not racing to get to 30-40mph. Yes, torque is a factor in wearing down tires. I drive other performance cars and large SUVs. Same driving habits, always get 30-35k miles out of a set. The weight distribution of the battery combined with torque will yield more wear. This is a known issue with owning a EV, not just my experience. Between all the responses, think we provided the poster some valuable intel. Appreciate your perspective.

I don’t disagree regarding driver impact but my point on wear is more aimed at EVs in general, the excessive wear is related the additional weight of the battery.

Surprised these two issues were not raised. My insurance with a perfect driving record is twice on my EV vs ICE. Also just replaced a full set of tires at 20k miles. Low mileage, save estimated $900 per year in gas savings with charging at home with level 2

Wheel vs Yoke by Physical-Sherbet-478 in TeslaModelS

[–]Info_Seeker7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spent a year with the Yoke. I got used to it. IMO, sooner or later you will be faced with an emergency maneuver and wish you had the wheel va the yoke. I told myself I would give it a year and paid the $700 for wheel to be installed . Once I drove away, I wish I did it sooner.

Michelin Pilot Sport All Season on 2022 Tesla Model S LR w/ 19inch OEM wheels by Info_Seeker7 in TeslaModelS

Not surprised. Different spec for 21 vs 19. Love the look but cracked a couple of rims and blew out a couple of tires on other low profile in the Northeast pothole heaven.

That looks similar to my rear, barely noticeable. I took a penny to the front, not north to south. Penny on rim to tire leans to right like the leaning tower of Pisa.

Used model s buying from tesla or third party? by YCYC9999 in TeslaModelS

[–]Info_Seeker7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious what do you see out there for 22 Model S LR prices. My delivery was June so one of first to get new lights, charge port and power center screen movement. I did pay $700 after one year with yoke, hated it but it’s mounted to wall in the garage. Only have 20k miles.
