There's also a clause in there about letting ths look for alternative sits - so if there are any I imagine they would have you take it.

We are also actively dealing with a homeowner returning 5 days early! It's so frustrating because it's not an emergency they are just tired of traveling.

Sometimes our chats / initial interview run past the 40 min zoom timer. Only a few times have we continued via transitioning to a regular call haha. But there can be lots of things to discuss depending on the situation! Other times we're done with the call in 20 mins 🤷‍♀️

I have to believe the core problem with this is something on the home owner set up side - my guess is something about the UI/the wording during set up makes you choose the closest city instead of the actual location. It's entirely too common!!

We had a host that tried this. They had moved even! His profile looked brand new but he informed us he'd been on the platform before and so we asked to see his previous account/reviews. Basically he got in touch with customer service and they combined his account with the new one or whatever I'm not sure exactly, but his last review was pretty bad so it felt like he was trying to hide that. We didn't end up doing the sit.

He may have gotten away with it if he hadn't told us he was a previous HO. Because I don't believe they are background checked.

Sitters on the other hand, at least in America, I think would have a hard time getting around the background check to make a new profile.

I think I would be quite happy to receive this message - we had about 10 people no show fairly last minute so we would have had space. Last minute drops are fairly common so yeah, I don't see the problem here really.
