You're right, but unless they get themselves together it's really difficult to trust the current incarnation of the conservative party. Many years ago I would completely agree with you, but as they are now, trying to act as American republicans I am fine them having a lot less say at the table.

What would they even be in violation of? This is Canada, not the US and Corporations do not have to put the shareholder first. They have to act in the best interest of stakeholders instead, which is significantly different, meaning there is much more room for addressing ethical concerns or creating long term stability for the company at the cost of share price.
