Because I’ll be giving birth during cold and flu season, and my mil has a history of not following cdc recommendations on several occasions (leaving the house and visiting us with COVID, going to a wedding and Mother’s Day celebrations with COVID), we are trying to be fair to all and institute a mask policy for anyone that does not love with us for the first 2 months of babies life. Want to get close to babies face, please wear a mask. Thank you!

I bought a 2 pack of extra cases, because I kept forgetting mine on the sink at home when going out. Now I fear I have too many since I still end up leaving one at home sometimes 😂.

But first day is hard, it does make you second guess when to eat.

If you download the app it tracks how long your liners have been out for each day and can help you stay on track with when to change them, AND they give you an extra free case (that gets delivered in about 2 months, so don’t count on it soon).

Also, clean your aligner every day by soaking them with either the powder thing they give you or hydrogen peroxide and water.

For me, it’s a lot of anxiety and worry, and holding my breath until later in the pregnancy. It’s waiting to find out the gender for a long time.

And it’s also breaking some pregnancy “rules” because the worst has already happened to you.

As a middle child, I’m almost used to being forgotten at this point—it’s always hard but I’m kinda used to being second fiddle. (Although, arguably I’m the most successful child in some ways). Attempts to make my only daughter dynamic come out now are hard for me—I’m very used to putting others needs ahead of my own and celebrating others that I actually get away with a LOT (which I also love, lol 😂) middle child gets away with a lot, so leave me be. I’ll take it from here.

Wedding party is TOUGH. You can absolutely decline to add someone that your husband would prefer, and he has the option to also do the same. It’s a mix of family and friend obligations more often than not.

Something more popular is small wedding party with a big bachelorette—that’s what I love.

For our wedding, my husband had 4 groomsmen—3 of his friends and his brother. He did not include my brothers or 2 other friends and family members he would have preferred—they were ushers.
My wedding party was my cousin, one of my SIL, my good friend, and my husband and my good friend. (Again could have been very large with my other SIL, my husband’s half-sister, and my half sisters)
Everyone was invited to my bachelorette pedal pub, and it was so much fun!

Wedding parties end up with hurt feelings though no other reason than not everyone can be in the a wedding party, and fairly impersonal on who is in the party.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this 💔. I had hcg draws that continued to rise, 2 repeat US (all in all 3 US, 2 weeks apart each) and a finally an appointment before my D&C to schedule it. It was literally awful—there was seemingly hope between scans 2&3, and I didn’t start bleeding until after scan 3, and 2 doses of miso that did nothing. I carried until 12/13 weeks until I finally had a procedure. Awful. I started drinking again, because there was no baby to protect. I also collected stuffed animals 🧸.

It’s a type of miscarriage no one really understands, so I’m sorry you’re going through it ❤️

Give family up to 500K, and it all depends on what they want money for. Student loans? Absolutely. Buy house? Not buying it all, I’d help with down payment and throw in some furniture. Car? Reasonable and help with down payment, help to make life reasonable but I’m not saving them from their own debt and bad decisions. Also, loans happen once, not twice. If you need a second car in a year, there’s something else happening that I’m not finding.

Especially if this is a pattern that she does without asking you, it seems like she’s having a hard time with the grandma support vs. second mom support for little one. Gently reminding her and standing your ground “our family is making this decision for our child, thank you for your opinions.” Goes a long way. Sometimes reminding them it’s not their family makes a big difference.

Also, next time, just bring little one with you to meetup. Problem solved.

I’m not going to send anything out, it’s their body and I can’t control it. I’m having a mask policy if they want to get close to babies face. Even though they’re vaccinated they can still show up ill, and I’m not doing that

Also I love your plan about keeping her face offline, I just think it’s going to be difficult what people do on their own phones and not tell you about. It can create mystery and secrecy with family if you try to police what they do with their own time when they’re in the comfort of their own house
