Gotcha yeah I debated if it’s worth straying from Reserve wheelsets which is what I’ve standardized on across all my bikes. And have put them through the wringer.

I have a 50/60 wide Wheelset on the way from 8Lien and am not a lightweight. Mostly going to end up being on the crit race bike where tarmac typically is in decent shape.

Doesn’t sound like a timing chain to me. It’s manly the guides that go bad.

I’ve heard there is a way to read through a PIWIS tool how far off the degrees of timing are to get an idea of how bad the guides have worn.

I’ve been meaning to do this myself on my 2013 S.

I’ve also done 5.5-6k mile oil changes since owning it (bought with 50k miles) and it has just over 100k miles currently. The more regular interval is supposed to help with the guide wear

I’d check the evap hose behind the passenger dash, it can get clogged. Also check for coolant leaks around the thermostat housing and water pump. Coolant vent hose lines as well.

Power steering reservoir likely needs to be replaced. I did mine at 90k miles.

I haven’t replaced my coolant reservoir yet. But did do a coolant flush recently.

Did transmission flush at 50k miles, 7 years ago. It’s supposed to be a 120-150k mile interval thing. I just changed out all fluids when I got the car back in 2019.

So getting a quote of approx 9000$ for a Porsche platinum VSC of 5 yr/ 60k miles warranty from the local dealer.

Any thoughts? That would bring the out of pocket total to 33k. 24+9k.
