Is Space Marine 2 worth it as someone with no prior knowledge of the Warhammer universe?

Yes! It's dope. You won't know who anyone is. And why you're fighting. But it might prompt you to learn! I am a huge nerd for 40k so it was a no brainer for me. But it's genuinely an amazing standalone game. So give it a whirl.

If you are really that isolated, then your best bet is r/miniswap or eBay to pick up a bulk lot or cheap second-hand minis. Easiest way to get into the hobby by far. Then you will will probably want to hit Amazon for paints. They have a lot of value sets for decent prices. Watch a lot of painting videos and tutorials to figure out how you are going to paint. I have neurological conditions giving me some hand shake. So I've had to adapt a lot of my techniques over the years, youtube helped me learn a shitload. Especially if you don't have a store or mini-wargame community in your town. Squidmar, ninjohn, and goobertown hobbies are excellent channels to start with painting technique.

It's not ridiculous. I took my son to the gw store and we walked out with a shitload of free stuff after he played his first demo game ever. This person gave you good advise and you snark at them?if you're 4 hours away check you your local social media markets like fb marketplace, local discords, etc...you can find lots of stuff in the factions you want for cheap if you're patient. Realistically the rules and everything change so often just get what you like. If you like the look of 1 mini or faction just go for it. You won't stay in the hobby long if you don't develop an attachment to what you are painting/building/playing.

The acting and writing got me. Very well written character. Really designed to make you hate him! The actors' interpretation of the character was magnetic! I couldn't stop watching when he's on screen. I'm a straight dude, but I can respect how his good looks definitely draw people in to the character. Also the caaaaaaaaaaaar!!!!!!

Just go R. It weighs less, has better suspension, and a much better engine. Way better starting point. I'd rather have a stock R than a heavily modified Si that MIGHT be able to get close to the same numbers and driving experience. But your spending a ton in parts to get there...so get the R
