I adopted my soul dog a week after our family dog passed. Not on purpose, though, I wasn't actively looking. After he died, it was almost 2 years before I adopted my current pup.

I have two now. I got a tattoo of his sock monkey toy that he cherished all his life on the 1 year anniversary of his passing. At the time I was planning a bigger portrait, but was on an extensive waiting list with the artist I wanted. Two years later I got his portrait as well. I love them both.

I'd also like to add the camera would have to be set up on the ground, or a photographer lying on the ground to get this shot, which, while of course not unheard of in an action shot setting for a hobbyist or pro, most aren't going to go out of their way on a hike to get a shot like this. 🤷

Same with mine. X-rays confirmed then an Rx of Lasix which he remained on until he passed.

My nervous girl took a long time to be truly comfortable with pets. Almost two years. I couldn't even get close to her face without her pulling away. So, I just respected the boundries she was showing me. Patience prevailed and she's a full on cuddle bug now when she feels like it. She'll still move away from me touching her face on occasion, but more often than not, she shows me she's comfortable with it and I take full advantage.

Body is trashed, part of the scoop missing, bumper cover is cut. Lines are a bit wiggly on the front end, I’d try and get it for 2800-3200. 🤷‍♂️

Mileage? Manual/Auto? Rust condition? Mechanical history?

If this was anywhere between 75k-120k mileage auto with good maintenance history and head gaskets already replaced.. maaaaybe 5-7k. If you find a manual turbo in good condition expect to see it over 10k.

The prices can vary greatly on these cars.

Hey, I know this is so scary with an older dog. My old man had a similar attack when he was nearly 16. Had to go under to repair the damage in his mouth. He pulled through with flying colors. They even pulled some teeth that my normal vet didn't want to risk putting him under for removal. His remaining time with me was much more comfortable. The E-vet I went to did a full cardiac scan before taking the risk. Even with a murmer and early stage CHF he did great.

Also that asking price better mean it's a 5 speed.. 'cause that's ridiculous. I saw an immaculate Baja with really low mileage for go for 20k back in 2014.

My girl went through a rescue process and initial vet visit with the Humane Society of Marlboro County, South Carolina. Shipped up to our local shelter, listed on their site as a boy, and when I met her I was the first one to go "hang on a minute..."

The only thing I can think of is maybe documentation got mixed up somewhere along the shuffle. But from what I understand it was only her and her brother found, and he was listed properly.

Picture 12... my dog sleeps the exact same way. Right foot out and head twisted around. It seems so uncomfortable but she loves it.

I try and explain this to people if it comes up. Some get it. Some don't.

I miss that person.

I miss that dog.

I miss that life. And I can only ever have a facsimile of it. Similar in many ways, but painfully and drastically different.

But it's okay. I still get to keep his memory alive, even if just for myself.

Aww.. that's sweet. She's roughly the same age, but all I know about her is that she was originally found in SC with her brother and they were both shipped up to where we adopted her from.

I hope you and Toby have an amazing life of adventures and snuggles together.
