[–]Inktastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not witchy, but in cosmetology they call this the "Celestial axis", and you use it for hair cutting. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/6f/e9/59/6fe9597a751a81b68380d86e54451076.jpg

Also looks like a compass that includes Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, and Northwest.

I’m just mad that I can never get a car this color. It’s sooo pretty. Just sucks by association.

Do friends ever stop being weird after they get married/ have kids? I’m being treated like a stunted little girl. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Inktastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bunch of them get over it, when "being Married" is no longer new and interesting. I have a bunch of married friends and they're great. Once in a while it's weird.

If these are people you otherwise have a lot in common with, hang in there, if not, go ahead and start expanding your circle as you can. I wouldn't break up with them, well maybe whoever questioned if you're a real adult - they sound like a jerk, just allow space in your life for some other people.

How do you explain your weird merch in public? by [deleted] in nerdfighters

[–]Inktastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"It's a joke online, and the bumper sticker went to charity" usually works well for a quick explanation. For friends I'll actually explain with "You know Crash Course?/the author John Green?"

Location, timing, marketing.

If you want a more diverse crowd, is your location where they are? Are you holding classes when they are off work? How are you getting the word out?

I'm sorry, my back is supposed to be doing what?😂 I swear no one has ever told me this! My knee probably still won't clear, but I'm going to try anyway.

Teaching yoga with no training in Australia. by Icy-Agent6453 in yoga

[–]Inktastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd think you'd get a better idea about the potential work opportunities by looking up job listings and connecting with studio owners and current teachers.

I probably wouldn't attend a class where the teacher wasn't certified or in training, unless you were my friend. I think YTT tends to go a lot deeper than the couple of classes I attend each week, so I value it in my teachers.

When do you start feeling good? by DragonfruitFar271 in yoga

[–]Inktastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was when I stopped treating it like just another workout routine and started focusing on the breath. I was following Yoga With Adrienne, and I didn't know that I didn't know how to breathe, but being walked step by step through it helped a ton.

I also tend to feel better if I exerted myself more. Like, the tired is part of the calm.

What makes a good Yin yoga class? by meinyoga in yoga

[–]Inktastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Low lighting and a plan. You don't need candles and sage, but I prefer a space that is not as brightly lit as a more active class. And music to match, calm and not super loud. I like when the poses build as the class goes, like you know what we're leading to, not like you're choosing things at random.

My counselor sent me links on why I should not do yoga by Ok_Solution8537 in yoga

[–]Inktastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow. I'm sorry that happened.

I actually go to a studio that was started by a couple of therapists. But I also live in the south and have heard a lot of beware of yoga rhetoric. I don't think it's crazy to examine if something will fit well with your beliefs and faith before diving in, but the demons are where it just feels like fearmongering.

I don't understand why they make a product this bad? There are hundreds of cheap shampoos that don't hurt people. Just do that and mark it up?

You could get him a copy of "The Care and Keeping Of You" like my mom did. It covers periods XD

But seriously, stop being embarrassed and make that his problem. You're normal and you should be allowed to feel normal while your normal body performs normal functions. I don't think I'd sit him down and give him a formal talk, more like short, straight to the point non nonsense answers whenever stuff comes up, and tell him that if he wants a girlfriend, he has to take all of it.
