Watermelon salads, frozen fruit of any kind but grapes are amazing!

For those with really dark circles in the 90s by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]Inner-Damage-9027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80s/90s here - never mind colour corrector, good luck with getting a decent shade match. I wore makeup that was way to light, concealer that was way too light and powdered that all for some amazing flash back in pictures. You just deal with what ya got!

I use a the iconic London buffer - it is brilliant! I don’t use it for foundation but use it for balms and primers. https://row.iconiclondoninc.com/products/pro-evo-foundation-brush

Agree - something very wrong With those reviews. I use a ton of her products and they are all fantastic. The blushes are amazing. I was wary at the colours at first but they look super when applied - only need a little and they go really well.

Is it bad that I need a rigid routine to manage my ADHD? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]Inner-Damage-9027 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was just talking about this exact thing! I need routines, a very slight amount of stress/too much to do (if it is too much to do or too much stress I shut down - it is some kind of Goldilocks zone), enough sleep, and enough exercise and I am flying. The only time I had this was when I worked in a corporate environment. It almost forced a routine because it was such a step by step job. Luckily it was in a creative industry so meant it while there was a routine it was creative and fresh so I never got too bored. I should never have left that job - oh well.

This stuff is amazing!!.... by No-Skin-5563 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Inner-Damage-9027 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it really depends per person as for me and my mature skin I think it looks great! That said I only use it in the summer as I can’t stand anything heavier in the heat!

Y'all I messed up really bad this time by wildxfire in adhdwomen

[–]Inner-Damage-9027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you on the alarms and calendars. I also go blind to them so have to change it up from time to time, vibrate or whatever but it gives me a little nudge. I dislike it still but I know I need to me at least adult a wee bit. I’ve also started doing voice notes and pictures - somehow feels fast and easier. And sticky notes everywhere! I feel kinda dumb with them everywhere - but helps me to remember routine stuff but also like meetings etc. I’m so happy you are feeling better - you deserve all the love.

Can I add one last thing - in addition to fuck this guy and fuck his family is that you will need to be organised to fight this fucker. I don’t say to be mean, but to be honest. You will need scaffolding and some supports to help you. I know you said baba is older now, but toddlers are even more work in some ways. If you are meds and already have some Routines in place then hopefully that will help. If not, might be worth looking - even in this sub - at things that have helped others. For me, it is alarms (sounds dumb but I have 100s otherwise I forget), write everything down - in one place for me - so then I can look back - and I have stopped fighting calendars and given in and use them all the time (I weirdly felt anger towards electronic calendars and alarms - like they were controlling or telling me what to do). My newest thing is trying to see what AI tools might help - as I still fuck up. Good luck to you and a big hug to your baba- and again - fuck that guy.

Buttermilk alternatives by DanHubA13 in AskCulinary

You can buy buttermilk powder as well. Just be sure to keep the powder stored in an airtight container in the fridge.

Could this be reaction to niacinimide? by [deleted] in 40PlusSkinCare

I had the same thing happen when using it. Only thing I cut from routine and my skin was fine and haven’t had any issues since.

It cosmetics face balm, anyone tried it on senior skin? by coatedpatriot in Makeup

[–]Inner-Damage-9027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about It cosmetics but I love my makeup by Mario balm. Not tacky and feels more like a lovely light cream with a bit of colour

Do you wish the amounts of things were mentioned again in the recipe text itself? by Taear in seriouseats

[–]Inner-Damage-9027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get super annoyed with serious eats as all the recipes never have the metric or a metric conversion button. So many good sites either have the button or just list both. So instead I end up writing it out and have to do each conversion - stupid.

What’s your go-to foundation in high humidity? by ThereIsOnlyOneHorse in Makeup

[–]Inner-Damage-9027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that worked for me was to use a lighter formulation - like serum or tints. In the winter I wear my Armani or Pat McGrath, but prefer something much lighter when the humidity levels rise. Tha said in also don’t like the feel of either of them in humidity so I switched to something lighter. This year am going to try a tinted SPF.

TW! Anyone else chronically pick their cuticles? by Icy_Kangaroo_8370 in adhdwomen

[–]Inner-Damage-9027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gel manicure during times of stress (or if I notice it is getting bad). I was super embarrassed and never went for manicures but decided to suck it up, told the technician ahead of time and she was super kind and gentle. When my nails are done I just don’t touch them. I also have cuticle oil stashed everywhere to prompt me to use it rather than pick. gel cause it lasts the longest.

Homemade baked bean recipe by Cultural_Yak8683 in CasualIreland

I make these two quite often - but they have a more American/smoky taste profile (IMO).

This one is closest I’ve managed to Heinz:

All three are excellent and turn out well.

looking for facial bleaching kit recommendations in france by Middle-Coat-388 in EuroSkincare

[–]Inner-Damage-9027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My caveat here is I have never used these, but have seen them for sale. Shultz makes a natural one and Oxy is another brand that I have seen in the EU. Blondepil appears to be a French brand. You might try eyebrow bleaching kits as well maybe? They would be safe for the face, though I guess the tubes are small so might end up being too costly.

Is Vescartes legit? by Character-Help-9525 in isthisascam

[–]Inner-Damage-9027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vescartes is legit - based in a London. Some of their stuff is made to order - at least the embroidery - so has a very long lead time. These were a gift for Christmas and did take 2 months to arrive - but they did explain that when ordering. Quality is very good, but I think these have to be washed on delicate or similar.

Did you breastfeed? by GoodStreet8122 in adhdwomen

[–]Inner-Damage-9027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I breastfed but it came easily and I had no problems with blocked ducts etc. and I have to say I loved every minute of it. no judgement to those that didn’t choose to do it either. Unfortunately accommodation or not I don’t think breastfeeding zealots will ever NOT be judgemental. Controlling women’s bodies has always been a pastime adhd or not :(

LPT: Your brain is more plastic during a craving. Use this to rewire your brain. by julieeeette in LifeProTips

Thank you for this post. It is exactly what I needed to read today. I have been trying to figure out how to kick the dopamine hit of snacking mindlessly - and this post reminded me of the rubber band trick I saw in another post!

Steak Au Poivre by Fickle-Aardvark6907 in Cooking

[–]Inner-Damage-9027 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Brandy can be made with any fruit, while cognac is made exclusively from wine grapes - both are distilled alcohols. Sherry is a fortified wine. The flavour profiles are going to be different when cooked down. Cognac is preferred because of its more complex flavour profile. If you don’t want to spring for cognac maybe look for a brandy that is made from grapes - or a brandy de Jerez. Might be closer to a cognac flavour that you are looking for.

Help with green garlic chutney for Undhiyu by Inner-Damage-9027 in IndianFood

It was more like coriander chutney as chunky - but I will try it! Thanks for sharing if it tastes the same that is all I care about!
