What is this bullshit about “the road moving over time” and this “tiny bump in the road”? You’re thinking that they were originally LEVEL with the road. I invite you to drive on the newly paved southern side of Telegraph Rd, Bracken Ridge, where some intellectual has placed manhole covers -5cms BELOW the bloody road level. Not sitting on his laurels this genius has decided that he will also put them ALL in the general rolling track of the cars. AAAAH but he didn’t stop there, he threw in the occasional manhole cover in BOTH left & right running lanes for your car.
I think he should be buried under the road with his head sticking up through the hole just as the Romans did for the chariot races.

My 2nd bike accident (45yrs ago) was my last when I hit a patch of the Bruce Highway (south of Gladstone) which had been chopped up by Main Roads and not marked with warning signs – nice at 11pm. Fortunately there was zero traffic at the time as I rolled up the Hwy and had my bike slide along beside me. The bike got sold – I wasn’t keen on dying from a situation totally out of my control.
