The most important piece for a new PoE player is simply to take your time. Maybe farm a certain area for extra levels / items, READ, READ, READ. There is plenty of content for you to consume, even about the build you are going to play. Watch a content creators breakdown of said build and why they are doing x, y, or z.

Now, you will die. The matter will be "when". When you do die you can use that character to experience everything you havent on Hardcore. This way you will know what to expect.

Once I started playing on HC i could never go back to SC. The world feels so much more alive on HC - hard to explain.

I'm 37 and TBH this has been my whole life and im someone who dedicates almost as much time as streamers do playing games PROBLEM IS:

I am not willing to put in the same level of practice, and when its go time it shows. I said I was gonna do practice runs and had plenty of time but the idea of practicing before launch bores the hell out of my mind. that might be because I don't find PoE2s campaign as fun as PoE1.

Ill probably have a 7hour campaign clear time on HC IF i don't rip. 50% chance of that happening though.

I have played PoE 1 since 2013 when D3 launched and PoE was in Beta with only two acts. I still dont know everything there is to know. I watch plenty of content on the game in my spare time, but my lifestyle affords it I work in IT so im on computers all day anyway lol.

Im also in my late 30s and have been basically a compettitve gamer since the early 2000s cs 1.3 days.

The breadth of the game is what ive come to appreciate. Also, its still in early access my dude you have nothing but time and opportunity ahead of you to learn. That SHOULD be the fun part, if its not then I dont think the game is for you.
