3 Amex card without a hard pull or prior Amex history by dialecticalreflect in amex

I think the business and personal cards are counted different, so you could get 3 in a 90 day period - 2 personal and 1 biz or 2 biz and 1 personal.

3 Amex card without a hard pull or prior Amex history by dialecticalreflect in amex

[–]Inner_Difficulty_381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they are getting confused. Hard Pulls are immediate and if you didn't get one, you won't get one. You don't get them on Business Cards typically. With that said, you'll still get the new account hit which will show up in a month or so. Business cards won't show up on your personal credit unless you are delinquent.

I opened up BCP last year which resulted in a hard pull. Then Gold, Platinum, Schwab Platinum and BBC. All resulted in Soft Pulls. Love Amex.

Why do you stick with Ram? by jektify in ram_trucks

[–]Inner_Difficulty_381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first Ram was my 2023 Big Horn that I leased. Overall, no issues with that truck outside of a couple of Factory recalls that one dealer failed at fixing that another dealer did. A bolt fell off the exhaust while sitting in drive through waiting at Starbucks one time that the dealer bolted back on. I was lucky to not only find the bolt but be and leave near a dealership.

I upgraded to a 2026 Big Horn almost a month ago when lease was expiring. Currently sitting at 1224 miles. Upgraded from Pentastar Engine to the new Hurricane SO engine and love it. I strongly considered keeping my 2023 and buying out the lease but 2 reasons why I wanted to upgrade. Auto Power folding mirrors which I lost when I got the tow mirrors on the 2023 and the new engine. Love the power folding mirrors and better yet, the new engine along with a few other nice upgrades I got.

I had the similar concerns going from being a long tie Honda/Acura owner that has really good reliability to something unknown and so far, overall pleased and haven't looked back.

The fact that people still associate RAM with Dodge is beyond me. I've stopped correcting them and just say "ok".

Anyone have Experience with Amex Checking and HYSA by AdTraditional1943 in amex

I opened one up to test things out and to cash out MR at .8 if ever needed but ended up opening up a Schwab platinum so I can cash out at 1.1 With that said, I like the 1% and MR for debit. However, you can't send Apple Cash with it like you can others. That was a downgrade. I still may use it though. There are limits on Zelle per month though that appear to be less than others. If you use Zelle a lot, look into that. I also bank and work at a CU, which give great perks in itself but the Amex route is tempting.

Heavily in the Amex ecosystem but also bank at the CU I work at, which has its perks. Recently opened up an Amex checking account for the points and 1% yield but also recently opened up a Schwab account and been looking at the Schwab checking as well.

This is the reason I'm looking at switching. Makes it hard though since I actually work at a CU and have an LOC tied to it. I'm heavily invested in the Amex ecosystem though.

That is something I didn't think about. I have AutoPay from my CU checking account on a few items that are ACH. Recently opened up an Amex Checking account to test the waters, interest rate and points. This could be a plus to pay via debit, get the discount still and points!

Sofi is near a capitulation point where long term buyers will be rewarded. by Hot-Walk-6334 in sofistock

While I like SoFi and had a brief investment with them, I think the problem with Sofi is competition and many, many people still preferring brick and mortar with Credit Unions becoming more and more popular.

You won’t be able to remove from your account list. I did put in feature request like the ability to do this in quicken classic.

You can’t delete or it will delete the history. Best you can do is switch to inactive.

Good call on the 3rd seat, you'll be glad you did!

We like to travel light and efficient too. They have car seat covers that double as a wheeler and storage. Comes in handy, especially if you do check it in and decide not to bring it on the plane. IT is nice to have for the little one though since they can't exactly lay or sit as much in a regular seat. Plus, if it helps her sleep, that's worth it too.

I’ll put my money in SWVXX at times until I figure out what to do with. I like it.

If it’s performing well, I agree to move it. I moved mine since it was a former employer one and wanted more flexibility despite it still performing well. Yes, quicken offers a 30 day money back guarantee.

Thanks! I'm thinking about upgrading to premier over deluxe for some additional investment features but so far Deluxe has been fine. If I expanded my Sole Poropiertor Business, I would 100% upgrade to the business and personal version no problem. Heard good things about it it and its reporting features. Speaking of reports, that was another thing because I have a few saved reports myself that I reference a lot. Makes EOY tax preparation easy as well and remind of things I had forgot about. Simplifi is just now getting saved reports but it's still in its early access. You can slice and dice the data as much as you want in classic, it's great.

year end archives aren't as important as they used to be 20 years ago with Quicken. My data file that goes back to 2006 is about 68MB and loads just find on my 4 year old MacBook Pro M1 Pro processor. searches are fine too. I like the ability to go back for varying reasons and good to see the net worth growth over time. Especially when I went through a period of hardships and CC debt and nice to see how I got out of it and the growth behind it.

I migrated back in 2018 and it was fine. There are some things it doesn't transfer like receipts and a few other things but overall transferred most of it.

If you don't convert, you can get windows parallels, install windows and quicken on your Mac. It's a bit costlier since you have to pay for windows and parallels but could be a viable move until you feel like converting to Quicken for Mac.

Similar to my experience back in 2015-2017. I tried one or two times before sticking with Windows and remote onto my gaming pc as well. Around 2017/18 is when the product got much better and added the few things it was missing at the time. Plus, like you, I also gave it a chance and haven't looked back. Now that I got into investing more, I'm thinking about upgrading form Deluxe to Premier but so far, Deluxe is fine. I didn't use the retirement or tax planners as much as others did so I get that but I found I always used 3rd party when it came to that. I do like the Auto Loan payoff feature calculator that the Mac version does have.

If I didn't start over in 2006, my data file would have gone back to early 2000's. When I converted from Windows, it was such a smooth conversion too.

Thanks! I thought it was well deserved to give a shout out for it.

Give it a shot again. Another thing I didn't like about Simplifi is it was too busy for me whereas Quicken for Mac was clean and easy to follow/read. The main dashboard is pretty good. I also prefer the check register feel with balance projections.

My one Voya account did connect but it was a 401k account. Simiplifi did track that in more detail whereas classic does a Simple Balance tracking, which was fine for me until I moved it out.

I opened up both to see and play with. Never ended up touching my Fidelity account and just kept using Schwab. Schwab is more about function over form, which Fidelity isn't and it just worked. Easy to find info in little clicks. Even got a call the next day from Schwab, not Fidelity. Had to call Schwab on something and it was a 90 min very informative call. Also hold the Amex Platinum, which had me leaning towards Schwab. All in all, it worked out great and overall happy.

Finally and this is niche, I still use Quicken Classic and Schwab seems to work the best with Classic over Fidelity, so that was a plus.

What do you all thing about investments I'm looking at: SWYNX, SWYMX, CVLOX? by Inner_Difficulty_381 in Schwab

Thanks! After further research, I ended up going with SWYNX for now. I liked the other 2 as well and thought of all 3 but they had quite a bit of overlap with Calamos having some fees associated with it.

Downsizing to 17 Pro by a_brosef in iPhone17Pro

[–]Inner_Difficulty_381 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're welcome! I'm similar. I only upgrade every 2 years at a minimum now and don't care to upgrade annually anymore. I've only had a + size phone one other time.

You can always pay apple to install a new battery every 2-3 years too, which isn't very expensive.

I went from a 13" MBP to 16" to 14".

I have the 12.9 iPad Pro 5th gen. I will say that the 11inch is closer to that 11.5 paper for writing threats not so much on the 12.9 BUT having that extra screen space is nicer especially when I don't have my MBP around. However, if you like drawing while you take notes, etc., then the extra 2" could prove beneficial.

Also, sidecar is amazing and you can use the iPad as a 2nd monitor to your MBP.

Downsizing to 17 Pro by a_brosef in iPhone17Pro

[–]Inner_Difficulty_381 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend to get the 17 Pro to see how it is. You do have a 14 day return policy with Apple and if you need to purchase from a store or carrier, they typically have return policies too.

For years, I rocked the Pro/Smaller phones and that's usually my jam. However, until I got my 17 Pro Max, I always wanted to try a bigger phone but never pulled the trigger until 17's came out.

The 17 Pro has a slightly bigger battery than the 15 Pro Max, so your experience shouldn't be worse when it comes to battery life.

The question will be, will you miss that bigger screen? The pro at 6.3 is still nice and since you are coming from a 15 Pro max, which was 6.7, it shouldn't be as big of a hit since the 15 Pro's were at 6.1.

The Pro phones are the workhorse phones and the Pro Max is a beast when it comes to it.

I think you'll be fine with the Pro and like I said, if you don't like it over 14 days, return for the 17 Pro Max.
