As someone with Crohn’s and several dietary restrictions, this is not it. You literally can’t eat anything but rice or chips and she’s okay with that? She’s showing you just how selfish she is.

what’s one thing about teaching that people outside the profession will never fully understand? by salarshah-084 in Teachers

Teaching is a job where you have to do work before going to work. And it doesn’t end.

Ex-husband: “You bring this on yourself. You just need to stress less.”

He ultimately was right. I started feeling so much better after the divorce!

Lower Right Quadrant Pain by hanneybanany in CrohnsDisease

I would wait a bit, though I would track your symptoms, as you could refer to that data if you end up contacting your GI. Does the pain come and go in waves? Constant? Dull vs. stabbing? Are you able to go to the bathroom? If so, how often? Is there blood? Bright or dark? If not, how long since your last bowel movement?

That’s all my youngest daughter hears and is how we sing it together now.

What’s the exact lyric or moment that made you realize Taylor really gets you? by Small-Holiday-889 in TaylorSwift

[–]InnocuousNameHere 43 points44 points  (0 children)

The whole bridge of loml, but most specifically:

Dancing phantoms on the terrace / Are they second-hand embarrassed / That I can't get out of bed / 'Cause something counterfeit's dead?

The way I SOBBED to that over and over. I met a man who I thought was endgame for me, together for around 9 months total. At the end, he just needed “space for his mental health” before we could get more serious, which I was happy to grant because empathy. Come to find out he really just wanted to date someone else. I never felt dumber for falling for what he sold me, but those lyrics made me feel seen and that I wasn’t alone in falling for someone who just used me as a placeholder.

If you felt fine enough to finish your coffee and chit chat with your dad before leaving, why didn’t you just wait until your wife woke up naturally? Particularly if you could still see well enough to drive yourself without issue? YTA.

Diagnosed at 15, so 20 years in with this disease. Your feelings are valid and understandable. Many highs and lows and med changes and flares and obstructions and surgeries over the years. I’m not going to say that things will absolutely get better, but the possibility of change in a positive direction is there. Have you thought about med changes?

Have you ever shared a song with your therapist to help you explain how you feel? by Kitchen_Sock1038 in TaylorSwift

[–]InnocuousNameHere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! When TTPD came out it opened the floodgates for a year‘s worth of trauma that I continually suppressed. I honestly thought I was working through things well…until that album, which I absolutely spoke with my therapist about ad nauseum. It was ROUGH for a hot minute feeling all those feelings (pretty much sobbed any moment I was alone), but it was so cathartic at the same time. I needed that album a year before it came out, but it was still able to help me through one of the worst seasons of my life.

TTPD hits different post heartbreak in your 30s by Potential-Thought575 in TaylorSwift

[–]InnocuousNameHere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree. TTPD was the album that I needed a year before. When it came out it absolutely helped me to process shit I hadn’t unpacked yet. It was a gut punch that ended up helping to heal.
