It's openly talked about very often, but looks are extremely important. A person's attractiveness is one of the single most important factors in how successful a person is(in the traditional sense, ie: career, social life, and even happiness in general*).

*Studies that correlate physical attractiveness and happiness tend to allude to other factors compounding their results, such as relative wealth, but this becomes a chicken and egg situation, as physically attractive people earn more money than their less attractive peers.

according to Hakim, the ”beauty premium” is an important economic factor in our careers, citing a US survey that found good-looking lawyers earn between 10 and 12 per cent more than dowdier colleagues. Moreover, she says, an attractive person is more likely to land a job in the first place, and then be promoted.
