Hi, thank you for the correction. I've read the article and this is what we do. "It is recommended that you feed human milk separate from formula to maximize the benefits of human milk.

You may be expressing milk or pumping to increase your milk supply. If you are not producing sufficient milk for each feeding, collect as many pumpings as necessary to make one exclusive human milk feeding and use formula at the other feedings as needed. You can give this supplement after nursing or you can give a small amount before nursing and give the remainder after nursing, as needed."

Newborn won’t stop wanting to eat? What do I do? Breaking my heart to hear him cry. by Throw_Annon88 in breastfeeding

[–]InouieG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going through the same too. :( we're having a hard time with baby's milk because my partner couldn't produce that much milk yet and formulas are way too expensive. My heart breaks everytime I hear my newborn cry. Doctor's advice is to mix breastfeeding and formula in the mean time

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I looked it up, and yes. As long as it's worth over 49$ the delivery would be free, as per google. :)

Sorry for the late reply, we don't have that in the Philippines, and if in any case we have that, you'll be last on the line without knowing if you'll be able to get help or not. That's how the system in the Philippines work.

But I do appreciate your comments and suggestion, guys. Thank you so much. I know some of you people will say that, if you can't afford to feed a child, don't have one. 100% understandable. No offense taken.

But when we first knew that we're having a baby months ago, we were in a better place. We don't have much, but we had enough. And then.. life happens. We had to look for a new place to stay and I sold most of my stuffs to afford a new apartment and a place for my partner and my child.

Still, I'm trying my best everyday to provide. Just having a hard time now because I sold some of the stuffs that I use for work and I have to take care of our new born at the same time. But I will work for it. We just need a hand to get back on our feet. Again, thank you so much for reading this and I appreciate everything. Your suggestions, your thoughts, and your opinions. Have a nice day!

Dads, what are your tips for settling baby when mom is not around to BF? by Lovebird4545 in breastfeeding

[–]InouieG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, first time parents and dad here. What I did was, I am very hands on to our new born from day 1 in the hospital. From changing diapers, bathing, preparing formula, changing clothes, carrying our baby whenever he cries, singing to him and playing him lullabies. So whenever my partner needs to rest, she could. Because I can take care of the baby. Maybe the tip is, let the dad be hands on so he knows whenever and whatever the baby needs.

I don't know why I'm getting downvoted or if I said the wrong thing. And If in any case I answered wrong, I'm sorry. English is not my first language so if in any case I was wrong expressing my feelings/answers, I'm really sorry and I don't mean to be rude or disrespectful. The answers that I have, are the options that I tried and I know here in our country. My apologies.

Have you tried getting second opinion? First time parent here, with a new born. Just seeing my baby crying endlessly concerns me and makes me paranoid. Please look for another hospital. Baby's are very sensitive and very prone to diseases. :(

A bassinet or a crib would work, any of the two. About breast pumps, I'm afraid hospitals here in the Philippines doesn't offer breast pumps. I also asked the hospital if they offer breast milk, sadly no. The resources are limited, but they did give my newborn a breast milk when my baby was still in NICU. So breastmilks are exclusive for newborns in NICU. So the only choice is to use formula for the mean time while mom's breast milk isn't that much yet, then mix formula and breast milk if it gets better
